Theory is great and I loved WEB DuBois idea of the dichotomy of being ‘Black’ and ‘American’ really fits here. You can be both. You can be concerned about the injustices your people face and be patriotic. You can be a proud American and demand accountability from the powers that be. It’s possible to be both pro black and pro America. That being said. I’m very impressed with Obama, his rhetoric, and his ideals. I really think he can run this country. I also think he is smart enough to tap folks with the expertise to address our economic woes, our international troubles, our exhausted military, and the class warfare going on in our country. Also let’s give this fiasco with his pastor a break. On many levels our spiritual leaders speak to us and inspire us. They do not however control us. That’s called being in a cult. Obama’s not drinking Kool Aid in South America. Enough already

Seriously, this is an important time for White America. If they vote a republican in after what we’ve all gone through the last eight years, they have no one to blame but themselves.

Whites, it time to seriously look in the mirror and understand the moment. All this talk that the nation has changed is bullshit. Look on any message board across this nation when the topic is race and you will see some of the sickest most racist comments since Emmitt Till died.

We all should hold ourselves accountable, but damn sure so should you.

It’s easy to take a pastor’s words out of context and make him look bad. I’m unfortunately too busy to look into all his words, but having seen previous coverage of spiritual services before, I wouldn’t be surprised if he was being quoted out of context. I’d quote I Corinthians 2:14, ha, but it’s a little mean to do so…
