Posted a piece on SLAM where I hit up Josh Smith, Mike Bibby, Marvin Williams, Al Horford and former All Star turned TV analyst Steve Smith. Co Co you happy? Check it out by clicking the above pic.

Great stuff Mike. When the Hawks clinch I’m going to write a 5,000 word piece about how we’re going to beat the Celtics. And yes people, I’m going to believe it!

Wow. Good luck on that. Bibby, Johnson and Smith would do their thing almost perfectly. I got a good sense of the fire the Hawks play with in the locker room. Joe Johnson got in and got out or I would have a couple of quotes from him too.

Gotta give the Hawks franchise as a whole some credit - probably the only team other than the 76ers to finish last in the East. Those lottery picks are paying big dividends. Joe Johnson and Mike Bibby are an All-Star backcourt.
I would love to have Josh Smith here next season.

April 7th, 2008 at 5:23 pm
Uh…I meant Go Yankees
April 7th, 2008 at 5:24 pm
Damn, I didn’t want it to end like this Brother……….
April 7th, 2008 at 5:29 pm
Ok, I’ll just wait until the Hawks let him go this summer. We’ll snatch him up then.
Mizzo - You’re a closet Phillies fan just like me, stop hidin’
April 7th, 2008 at 5:59 pm
Good work Mizzo. Hey I told Miranda since the Falcons were done after the vick incident that the hawks would be good.
The joke I had with the sista was that since a lot of folks in ATL couldn’t stand that tatted up brotha at QB. They now will have to root for a team of tatted up brothas with the hawks. Cause that would be the only team that will do any winning now.

As usual good job!
April 8th, 2008 at 12:50 am
Thanks for the props people. Just doing what I do.
April 8th, 2008 at 1:14 am
Origin,
You think they’ll let us keep these Hawks?? You know what’ll happen if we start to have too much fun. If we start selling out Phipps on a regular…….it’ll be bye-bye to Joe Johnson for sure.
April 8th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Yeap Miranda don’t yall Atliens smile and be too happy in the stands.
ATL POPO might plant some dope on Josh Smith and Joe Johnson. Anything to get you’ll out of them stands.
P.S. don’t be in the stands singing Bone Chrusher ain’t never scared either. Isn’t that how the media started that whole look at the type of people coming to the Falcons gmes???
April 8th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Origin……you ain’t right….LMAO!!! Oh why did you have to bring back that memory…oh…good times…good times.
April 9th, 2008 at 11:20 am
Good stuff mizz,
We ATLiens don’t get much national recognition for the Hawks, so it’s good to see you show us some love. I think they’ll make the playoffs and lose to the Celtics in 4 in the 1st round (sorry Co Co, but i’m a realist and i gotsa keep it real
).
Regarding Josh Smith, i think the organization will find a way to sign him to a long term deal. He’s a hometown favorite and have enormous potential. I don’t think they want to make the same mistake the previous administration did when they traded ‘Nique for Danny Manning (I still get ‘hot’ just thinking about that trade!).
But then again, Miranda has a point: This team (and the fans in the stands) may be too ethnic for another particular ethnic group, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they blew this team up, too.
April 9th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Thanks my man fifty grand. I had ATL in mind when doing this.
April 9th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Grand - On that last sentence when you think about it, fans in Atlanta are probably the only ones in the country that can make that claim.
April 9th, 2008 at 8:23 pm
TBR,
A friend of mine put it best 2 years ago, he said to watch. He said the men in suits from the Northeast don’t like coming down here to the “A” and seeing what they do not see anywhere else. They are tired of looking at what appears to be an HBCU tailgate to the 20th power on an NFL Sunday. It messes with their minds as so how so many of these folks can pull up in these SUVs and pull out the deep fryers (damn Im gonna miss that croaker sammich) have a spades tournament at every other spot, pumping Pac or Biggie out the systems, having a grand ole time…..and then all of ya got on those expensive #7 jerseys to boot?? They are sick of it, and have been for awhile. Yep, my friend called it two years ago, he really did. Atlanta was an anomaly - and it had to be corrected
April 9th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I’ll take that croaker sammich to go…plenty of hot sauce.
April 9th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
Damn Ron! Shit made me hungy bruh!
April 9th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
Me too…blame Miranda, talkin’ deep fryers and all that stuff.
April 9th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
I’m tearing up just thinking about it…….no more croaker on white bread with a pinch of mustard….no more spades tournament on Marietta Street an hour before kickoff….dang, I gotta get a new bootleg guy too.
April 9th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Losing a good bootleg guy is like losing a good mechanic.
April 9th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Or losing a good Barber.
Dang that was tight Miranda sounded like a SWAC game.
Man I hate myself for never going to a game in ATL when Vick was there.
Yeap and your friend was right. They hated that mess I am sure of it. Just the fact that you’ll could afford those fly cars and tickets too.
Bad enough folks like you play on the football field making more money in a game then they make in a year. Then you’ll with your fancy cars and deep pockets got to flaunt that mess in them good folks face on Sunday tailgating…………….LOL!!!
April 9th, 2008 at 11:19 pm
Origin,
It was the Bayou Classic and the Magic City Classic combined…..all that was missing was the band. And the ole boys club from Bristol, CT just could not wrap their heads around it - they said to themselves, “We never let it happen in DC, Chicago, Houston….how did we let this happen in Atlanta?” It so truly hurts…my daddy said “they just dont want you to have NUTTIN…not even one team.”
April 10th, 2008 at 12:37 am
Sista Miranda I have always loved ATL. Ever since I went there as a college student for freaknik. Ain’t no city in the country like ATL.
Just a lil old school ATL music for you ATLiens out there.
