The triangle is based off the front court (usually a good passing Center Shaq/Gasol/Cartwright or 4 man Rodman/Stacey King/Odom/Ronny) and then branches out to an outstanding 2 guard such as Jordan or Bryant. Add to the mix a solid tall point guard like Ron Harper 6'5", Pippen 6'7", or Derek Fisher (6'3" at least), and you have a blueprint for a championship.

I'm not saying that the Lake Show is going to win this year, however it would be really NICE!

I hear you. Getting a jump on the competition. You're probably six or seven years ahead. One of the things that should be obvious with this team is that as the chemistry increases, Pau Gasol will be a better offensive option for the Lakers than Kobe. Clearly, I'm not saying Gasol is a better offensive player - but he's extremely talented, has tremendous size, plays closer to the basket, shoots a higher percentage, and converts free throws. Logic dictates that he should get significant touches in crunch time against elite teams.

If Gasol ever supplants Kobe as the number 1 option, that would be a problem for his "legacy" and the idea that he's the b-e-s-t b-e-a-s-t of all tymzezez!! It probably won't happen - but who knows. Phil's been known to want to run his offense inside-out.

T3 you are correct. I have to say I'm not going on empirical evidence. I'm just going by what I see. Say Kobe runs off three in a row--hypothetical of course--but what would people say then. Just trying to beat everyone to the punch.

Mike obviously was the better player but Kobe getting a jumper earlier in his career has to mean something. We will never know just how good a player Kobe would have been earlier in his career if it wasn't for Diesel having his back. OF course there are all kinds of players who are arguably the most talented and the guy who sticks out to me is Kareem. Dream was very talented as well but you know my aim--even though I stand by my words--is start a discussion.

The Lakers can sweep the Nuggets. The triangle is working flawlessly with the passing of Odom and Gasol. Everyone on the Lakers plays much better because of Kobe Bryant. He keeps the other team honest on defense and the rest of the team steps up. Everyone is going to talk about Pau, however Derek Fisher is the one that changed the team for the better this year. And Farmar is excellent off the bench.

Lake Show 4-0.

And Kobe loves playing against the class of '96. Just ask Steve Nash.

I caught hell for labeling him the most talented player in history but stick to my statement because there’s nothing on the floor he can’t do.

That's because being able to do everything doesn't make him unique or the best. There has been many players who could do everything well on the court. Kobe's not the first or the last - and right now, there is no EMPIRICAL support to say he's the best of all time.

There's still the problem of that guy whose career averages are higher in scoring, shooting, rebounding, passing, stealing and winning. And, that guy played when the rules favored defenses. In this era, he might have dropped double-nickels every night.

Doesn't Kobe have to win at least 1 ring as the lead dog pulling the sled?
