He found a loophole and went through it. This young man will come back more well-rounded than most of the kids in his graduating class going onto college.

Simply put, how much better can it get than being 18 getting paid to play a sport that you love and seeing the world in the process.

I expect certain things when I come to TSF.

I expect Mizzo to lace every interview he has ever done with a literal forest of youtube links which I cannot watch because most of my posting is done while I am at work.

I also expect morons like Shaska or this one here (who I am calling Koko B. Stupid) to not understand the point.

Let me explain this. Brandon Jennings made a choice because of a rule. It’s not because he’s not smart enough, and you do not want to get me started on the inherent cultural biases in the SATS. But nonetheless he decided that he would go to Europe, get actual spending money that he wouldn’t have to hide from people, and up his level of competition in the process. Is it a risk? Yeah. If he gets exposed as not a great player it’s a problem. If he has a horrible year adjusting to the culture shock, and speaking a foreign language, it’s a worse problem.

But if he can dominate the league he plays in he improves his draft status, while learning about foreign cultures and maybe learning to speak a different language, it’s great. I hope it works out for him.

Brandon Jennings was all set and ready to go to the University of Arizona. Then, he failed his SAT. Then he failed it again. Then he took it a third time. Does this sound like the actions of a man who was dead set on flying off to Europe to begin a professional career? No. It sounds like the act of an illiterate moron who was embarrassed as hell that he was too stupid to pass a simple college entrance exam. If BlowJob intended to go to Europe, then he shouldn’t have fucked over a major college program in the process. If you want to win, signing with the Los Angeles Clippers is the absolute STUPIDEST SHIT you could ever do. It’s patently absurd. It’s ridiculous and it’s not defensible.

TLP – I don’t think Brand made any kind of committment to the Clippers like Boozer did the Cavs.

Boozer told the Cavs that he would sign the deal proposed to him if they let him out of his current deal. Once the Cavs eliminated the final year of the deal Utah made their move.

Reportedly, Brand and agent David Falk made no committments and stopped answering the Clippers calls days ago.

I asked this question at SOMM and I’ll ask it here, too: are “student-athletes” like Jennings the only ones who go to “elite” “prep” schools, but still can’t passd the SAT? No disrespect to young Mr Jennings, but would Oak Hill accept that outcome from any other (non bball playing, non-revenue generating) student of theirs?
