He found a loophole and went through it. This young man will come back more well-rounded than most of the kids in his graduating class going onto college.

Simply put, how much better can it get than being 18 getting paid to play a sport that you love and seeing the world in the process.

I expect certain things when I come to TSF.

I expect Mizzo to lace every interview he has ever done with a literal forest of youtube links which I cannot watch because most of my posting is done while I am at work.

I also expect morons like Shaska or this one here (who I am calling Koko B. Stupid) to not understand the point.

Let me explain this. Brandon Jennings made a choice because of a rule. It's not because he's not smart enough, and you do not want to get me started on the inherent cultural biases in the SATS. But nonetheless he decided that he would go to Europe, get actual spending money that he wouldn't have to hide from people, and up his level of competition in the process. Is it a risk? Yeah. If he gets exposed as not a great player it's a problem. If he has a horrible year adjusting to the culture shock, and speaking a foreign language, it's a worse problem.

But if he can dominate the league he plays in he improves his draft status, while learning about foreign cultures and maybe learning to speak a different language, it's great. I hope it works out for him.

Just to emphasize how paranoid and ignorant some of you are, allow me to point out that I am not "davemac" or "David Mac." I do see from some old blogs that you had a house honkey by that name hanging around here, but I ain't him.

Brandon Jennings was all set and ready to go to the University of Arizona. Then, he failed his SAT. Then he failed it again. Then he took it a third time. Does this sound like the actions of a man who was dead set on flying off to Europe to begin a professional career? No. It sounds like the act of an illiterate moron who was embarrassed as hell that he was too stupid to pass a simple college entrance exam. If BlowJob intended to go to Europe, then he shouldn't have fucked over a major college program in the process. Remember these facts the next time you are compelled to treat this jughead like a basketball variant of Curt Flood.

If you want to win, signing with the Los Angeles Clippers is the absolute STUPIDEST SHIT you could ever do. It's patently absurd. It's ridiculous and it's not defensible.

Any idiot over the age of five knows the Clippers do not care about winning. It would be like signing a big contract with the Detroit Lions and talking about the Super Bowl. You'd be a Dumb Ass in Cleats.

Stupid is as stupid does. Run Forrest, run!!

I heard that Sterling gave Brand a take it or leave it offer. Fuck him then. If I am signing for less money, that's because I am seeking peace of mind. Baron Davis is...how do the French say it? He is fucked!

And Lebron is set to go hang with Jay Z.

I just heard that Corey Maggette signed with the Warriors. I thought for certain he'd go with the Spurs.

Also, will Cleveland do anything this off-season to help prevent Lebron from jumping ship to the Nets?

TLP - I don't think Brand made any kind of committment to the Clippers like Boozer did the Cavs.

Boozer told the Cavs that he would sign the deal proposed to him if they let him out of his current deal. Once the Cavs eliminated the final year of the deal Utah made their move.

Reportedly, Brand and agent David Falk made no committments and stopped answering the Clippers calls days ago.

I asked this question at SOMM and I'll ask it here, too: are "student-athletes" like Jennings the only ones who go to "elite" "prep" schools, but still can't passd the SAT? No disrespect to young Mr Jennings, but would Oak Hill accept that outcome from any other (non bball playing, non-revenue generating) student of theirs?

Re: Brand

Why is he not catching the hell that Carl Boozer caught when he pulled the same shit a few years ago? Are the Clippers and that racist Donald Sterling that irrelevant?

Overnight this Brandon Jennings has become a pioneer for stellar student athletes that don't want to deal with the NCAA Ruling or the temptation of hooking up with the wrong people while at school. If anything they are improving their chances while honing their skills.

I don't think too many people realize the impact of what he's done. There's nothing the NBA and David Stern can do about it. His talent at 18 is allowing him to see a world outside of his own and he's gettin paid for it. I hope it works out for him and I wish him well.

Jacobs is being honest with himself and who ever adivised him I think did the right thing. Work on your game all year round, come back with some cash and a season of playing with men.
AND giving the college plantation the finger.

This is definitely what the Sixers needed...but on another note, what is up with these Duke players?

Duhon - robbing the Knicks
Boozer - lied to a blind man and walked
Brand - lied to a sorry franchise and walked
Jay Will - lied to the Bulls

haha just somethin I thought about

I'm with keeping Iggy - less pressure on him. Especially if we can get some decent bench help.

I'll holla later.

Michael Redd would be perfect. I love Joe Johnson's game but would he be a good fit?

Keep Iggy. I wanna see how he develops.

Yo I'm going to sleep. This night job is a beeeeast.

And Baron Davis must be sick right now.

He lost 2 teammates in a matter of minutes. He would've been better off in Golden State.

I'm excited about the signing and hopeful that there will be one more addition to solidify the bench more than likely a shooter.

Brand is a back to the basket player that will really help the 76ers' half court game especially in the playoffs when the game slows down.

Michael House, Brent Barry, and Bobby Jackson are options, I've gotta scour the wire for more names.

I heard that they may be looking for a starting shooting guard that would come through a sign and trade involving Andre Iguodala.

Joe Johnson, Michael Redd - Can you hear me knockin'?
