I always argued Sankofa’s point with a friend of mine that the lack of defined history did hobble Africans in the USA. Immigrants of other races and ethnic groups know where they come from but I’m spitting in the wind if I say my people are from West Africa. What does that mean because I can’t go back to my county as they do in Ireland or my canton as the Swiss can.
