One thing I can appreciate about the 60′s: as screwed up as our country was, people spoke up. We asked questions. We made our leaders accountable. We didn’t let people spit on us and call it rain. There’s too much apathy in this country period, never mind black athletes (who I don’t think should be spokesmen for black people unless you include black actors and singers in the mix). Too much money to lose and too many headaches. I really believe Michael Jordan wanted to take the Charles Barkley route and said he wasn’t a role model, but he wouldn’t have been “politically correct” (God, I hate that term).
