Andre Johnson and the Houston Texans earned their first win last week against the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Matt Shaub scored on a 3-yard run as time expired in a 29-28 thriller.
This week’s Power Rankings has a new #1, in fact the top three teams all moved up without playing a down last week. There’s some serious congestion at 11 thru 20, in a couple of weeks we should know who’s who.

Didn’t watch the debate because I was interviewing University of Miami Professor Josh Diem for part one of a series of interviews entitled Why America is Afraid to Talk About Race.

In American pro-wrestling in the year 2008 the idea of a strong junior heavyweight division is either a joke 
(WWE), a tantalizing reminder of what could have been (TNA), or good but unfortunately not presented to the mainstream (ROH, IWA-MS, assorted NWA Indies). So when I mention that in Japan the weight class is treated with respect, and never frittered away for the purposes of making a big muscle-bound slug a new star, people seem to have a great dral of trouble with this concept. They tell me “But wait a minute. You mean those little guys get a chance to do what they do best without being overrun by Triple H every 60 seconds?” Yes actually, and a great deal of credit for this mindset staying true over the last 25 years goes to one man and one company. The man is Jushin “Thunder” Liger, and the company is New Japan Pro Wrestling.

PHILADELPHIA, PA-You cannot make this up. Sarah Palin, the best-known hockey mom in the United States, gets booed Saturday at the Philadelphia Flyers hockey game. And the game is played, of all places, at the Wachovia Center. It’s all over YouTube: failing candidate, failed bank as corporate sponsor, the kind of anger that cannot be scripted.
The Philadelphia Eagles aren’t the only team in the NFC East to fall victim to the injury bug.

According to reports, quarterback Tony Romo has a broken finger on his throwing hand and could miss up to four weeks.
Player of the Week
Houston Texans receiver Andre Johnson had 10 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown as the Texans won for the first time this season, a 29-28 thriller over the Miami Dolphins.
The Texans weren’t the only team to notch their first win yesterday.
Last season after the death of their All-Pro safety Sean Taylor, the Washington Redskins won four of their last five games to make the playoffs. Even winning their final four regular season games without quarterback Jason Campbell who dislocated his knee.
