Ron Glover’s NFL Thanksgiving Day Predictions

Thanksgiving and Football. Whether you’re taking in your high school game, for me it’s Central vs. Northeast (Alma Mater). Maybe you’ll chose to take in the Detroit Lions around noon and the Dallas Cowboys a while later as the tryptophan kicks in. My favorite is the annual Turkey Bowl, every neighborhood has one, it’s the one day of the year where guys that have done nothing all year come out to try and recapture some gridiron glory and bragging rights.

Thursday November 27, 2008

Tennessee (10-1) at Detroit (0-11): The Lions are due for a win, and the Titans are ticked off. I’ve seen some pretty bad Lions teams win big on Thanksgiving. But I don’t think Barry Sanders will be in uniform for this one.

The Pick: Titans 27 – Lions 20

Seattle (2-9) at Dallas (7-4): Just like that T.O. is a threat again and he’s letting the world know it. What’s the best way to cook a Seahawk?

The Pick: ‘Boys 35 - Seahawks 13

Arizona (7-4) at Philadelphia (5-5-1): If the Birds can pull this one out they will remain in the playoff hunt. If not, it marks the end of a great run for Donovan McNabb in Negadelphia.

The Pick: Eagles 30 – Cardinals 24

Enjoy your Holiday!

    Around this time tomorrow night will mark the end of a great run in Philly for McNabb, I’m afraid to say. I hope D’Nabb has time to talk to Kurt Warner after the game because he can give him some advice about what to do when your team leaves you twisting in the wind. #5 is nothing but tough though so win, lose, or, heavens forbid, tie tomorrow night he’ll play the good soldier for the Eagles while making the plans for him and his. For me though at least I can say I’ll two throwback jerseys after he and Dawk leave Philly after this season. Don’t think I’ll be getting a Kolb #4 though.

    @Mizzo
    Does Dalembert do anything for the Sixers other than grab some rebounds, get four points on a good night, and pout like he never commits a foul? Every time I watch the Sixers this guy spends more effort crying to the refs than anything he does during the game. Dag!

    I’ll have a Sixcers piece up in a bit about last night. I’ll also be covering the Eagles tonight. I gotta be there just in case the moment signifies the end of an era.

    Happy Thanksgiving to all.

    Well, the McNabb Era lives another game. Despite it all, I’m happy he led the Eagles to a victory but I still say it’s his last season there.
