The rosters seem like they were picked right after the Jets beat the Titans. Favre is ranked #7 in the conference. It doesn’t look like a good pick after the miserable way his team has performed the last 3 weeks since that game. I think its one of the weakest AFC offenses I’ve ever seen. Even Manning is not his usual self with all the injuries this season.

    The defense looks good, though.

T.O. didn’t make it. Fitzgerald and Boldin have become MORTAL LOCKS for the PB.

For all the talk about the SEC and other “speed” conferences, the starting corners for the NFC will two veterans from the Big 10 — Charles Woodson and Antoine Winfield. 3 Vikings on the D-line are going to the Pro Bowl. Wes Welker’s going…he scored 2 touchdowns. He had 100 catches and only 2 touchdowns. I guess…

I’m glad to see Jason Peters and Joe Thomas make the Pro Bowl. I don’t think they got the “beauty contest” vote, but with the retirements of that elite group (Ogden, Roaf, etc.), its time for the youngsters to step up. Always liked Peters…he’s an amazing athlete for a man that size.

Thanks for the Norm Chow articles especially the one for the Daily Collegian. The guy’s an offensive mastermind who I wish had been able to make it work with VY and the Titans because he, Vince, and that team probably would have reached all their goals if it had clicked. VY would be well on the way to be the dual-threat in the pros that he was in college. The Titans probably would have a high power offense to go with its stifling defense. Chow would probably have or be in line for a head coaching position in either the pros or college.

The DC article was pretty frank and I appreciate the fact Coach Chow embraces his ethnicity and culture because I get tired of minority coaches and players who tote the colorblind line and try to shrink away from the progress they represent. The sad thing is that they only delude themselves in their post-racial world. Ain’t that right, Jason Campbell? What about you, VY? How about you two, Coach Gill and Coach Strong? Yeah, I thought so.

Check out ‘Breaking The Huddle’ on HBO which is a great documentary about the integration of the SEC, ACC, and the SWC in the late 60′s and early 70′s. Bill Rhoden is the writer and it’s a good slice of history that I didn’t know the details of especially Jerry Levias’ story at SMU. Real good stuff.

    Also….

John Abraham has 15 sacks and got snubbed. I just knew he was a “shoe in” this year. Maybe he’ll be a reserve in case someone doesn’t play.

  4. Temple3 says:

I’ve gotta say the biggest “snubs” have to be Rivers and DeAngelo Williams. Williams could actually be starting in the NFC with all of his touchdowns.

I haven’t seen Abraham play. I see the sack numbers, but has he been better than Peppers, Tuck or Allen in your opinion?

  5. GrandNubian says:

I wouldn’t say that he’s been better than Peppers but I could make the argument that he’s been just as good. I also think he’s been just as good (or better than) as Tuck or Allen.
