Doing what I do with the interview, I have literally hundreds of people on my radar. If it wasn’t for the transcribing process, you definitely would see a lot more interviews than you already do here on TSF. Of course there are the biggest and the baddest: Mike, Tiger, Barry…as well as the last but not least: doctors, teachers or any other genuine public servant. I’m inspired by their love and dedication to not only what they do, but to people in general. I do this as a fan first to give you a perspective most are not interested in giving. It’s never about me.

One person in particular I definitely had in mind was Kay Yow and sadly, I won’t get the chance. Initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, Kay fought the disease long and hard until she finally succumbed this morning.

Herm Edwards Out as Kansas City Chiefs Coach

Damn! Another one of the good guys are gone. Yeah Herm was 15-33 and had the worst two game stretch in Kansas City Chief history, but he was one of the few engaging coaches left. Always good for a quote, Herm would give it to you straight every time. After Carl Peterson abruptly resigned and Scott Pioli was brought in, the writing was on the wall. Coach Herm had one year remaining on a 4 year 12 million dollar contract. Larry Johnson was banged up, but it didn’t help Herm that his franchise back couldn’t make up his mind to play football or not. Edwards will definitely land on his feet somewhere but he might have to take a coordinator job first. In Kansas City, you have to win. It’s as simple as that. Maybe Herm didn’t get enough time to turn it around and was too loyal to his players, but the man can coach. Before the Chiefs, Herm guided the New York Jets to a 39-41 record from ’01-’05. 2-3 in the playoffs.

My man…
