Kobe Bryant Goes 61 On Everyone…Oh Oh! Is He About to Go Off?

DAMN!!!!!!!!

Did you hear the league let out a collective “Oh, oh”? With the news Andrew Bynum out 8-12 weeks, Kobe Bryant put the universe on notice. He scored 61 points in a 126-117 victory over the Knicks in Madison Square Garden.

It’s the most points put up in the current arena since it opened in 1968 breaking Michael Jordan’s classic double nickle game. Beans shot 19-31 from the field and a perfect 20-20 from the line. He had 34 at halftime. I tell you what, all you cats out there who said LeBron is the man better ease back. Look at his face! Dude ain’t playing with ya’ll no more. Can you see King Michael all in there sans taped Manhattan fingers and old school knee brace?

Like I told you here:

Kobe’s minutes are cut down to save his legs for playoff time. He’s like a hired mercenary on his own team and just enters the game and scores when needed. It’s not about the stats anymore with Kobe.

Scratch that. Mike’s son has been waiting to show off all year. Phil has held him back, but he can’t afford to now longer.

Remember a couple of years ago when he scored 40 points in like 325 (hypothetical of course) straight games? Well that’s about to go down again if his team doesn’t pick up the slack left by the injured big fella. LO has to step up his game as well. He had 7 Kobes and 14 Big Aristotles, but that ain’t enough. LO this is your time bruh. Get it! Pau you too.

Anthony Gilbert worked the game. He’ll have a piece up when he gets back from up top.

AG hits Kobe off with the soundbite you will hear all over the world at the 2:22 mark. See how we do? I’ll have a piece up after speaking with Doug Collins and Reggie Miller regarding the All Star game sometime later in the day where I know this will be a topic of conversation.

  2. origin says:

HAHA even sue yun got some minutes…LOL!!!!

  3. Matthew Fudge says:

Feel sorry for the Knicks. Kobe goes for 61 last night, LeBron’s gonna try and one-up tomorrow night, then Boston’ll try to put a collective beatdown on NY Friday night. Hope somebody’s got Dr. Phil on speed-dial.

  4. sankofa says:

Hahaha mathiew Fudge! Is this where (no D) Antoni shows off his hall of fame coaching expertise?

  5. Matthew Fudge says:

You can only show off your expertise when you have talent, and the Knicks don’t have enough.

  6. KevDog says:

That was ridiculous. Easiest 60 point game ever, dude looked like he was running drills in his backyard. Passed Jordan for second most 60 point games too. And he did it at MSG, Sweet!

  7. Temple3 says:

    KevDog:

I didn’t see it, but the New York Knicks are notorious for their inability to defend. On the surface, I’d say this was about as impressive as setting a scoring record against, um, I don’t know — the Raptors!

    Yikes!!! :(

  8. origin says:

Brotha Kevdog. The stats I got were that this was Kobe’s 5th 60 + game. Which ties him with Jordan.

He surpassed Elgin who had 4, 60 + games.

Its amazing that Wilt had 32 games of 60 or more.

  9. Mizzo says:

O that just tells you who the real GOAT is.

  10. origin says:

Oh and Kobe is gonna drop 50 on the raptors tonight.

  11. KevDog says:

Started off well but cooled off. I’m looking for him to go off in the second half though. And BTW my man “O”

Kobe has 5 60 point games, Jordan had 4 and Baylor had 3.

  12. Temple3 says:

    KevDog:

No one applauds the tenor when he clears his throat.

“Knickspectoration” in the Garden all over my blue suede shoes is a tepid confirmation of that which we already know.

I’d rather see him go against tenacious two years like Temple 4 and Temple 5.

  13. origin says:

Brotha Kev Jordan has 5 (1 game was the 63 pts game in the playoffs).

But if you only count the regular season then yes Jordan has 4.

  14. Monarch says:

This is a tight article. Love the photo too, homey.

KOBE lit up MSG like a roman candle, that was perfection! LA #1
