Atlanta Destroys Miami in Game 1

One extremely impressive win does not define this season. One win does not guarantee this series. In the grand scheme of things this win means very little. It is a means to an end. Advancing to the next round is the goal. This victory is merely a stepping stone.

The leaders of this Atlanta Hawks team are cautious. They understand that while the victory is huge, Game Two presents a different set of challenges. The mood following Atlanta’s 90 – 64 thrashing of the Miami Heat was a reserved one. It is clear to this bunch that there is still plenty of work to be done.

The Anatomy of a Steal

Andre Iguodala matured even more last night. Folks forget he’s just 25. He seems to have had a heap of scrutiny thrown his way and he’s finally absorbing the criticism and judging his game accordingly. Not that the criticism is paramount, but every player hears the whispers no matter what they say. Last night, Dre threw in a game winning dagger to complete a 14 point 4th quarter deficit that stretched to 18 in the third. Heroic comeback that should go a long way in showing just how good Iguodala could be in this league. Hit the piece up on SLAM by clicking the Reggie Evans bear hug. Game 2 Wednesday night.
