I like you Mizzo. And I have respect for you. But clearly…. you do not watch boxing. because if you did you would say that Manny is the best. Not Floyd. Manny has earned that much respect.

  2. Mizzo says:

I’ve watched a lot of boxing and I still gotta go with my man Pretty Boy until he is beaten. Simple as that. When he beats Floyd, then I’m witcha.

That’s about as likely as Stan Van becoming the next RED.

  4. Okori says:

I think he’ll beat Floyd…. assuming Floyd gets by Marquez.

  5. Mizzo says:

Let me ask you something…why would you diminish an undefeated champion just because Pac is the hotness?

  6. Okori says:

because the undefeated champion retired for 11 months. That’s why. That’s almost a year. If someone came back from being gone almost a full year, and their game was built around elusiveness, I wouldn’t exactly be proclaiming the P4P king. And Marquez knocked out Joel Casamayor (1st time ever KO) and Juan Diaz (1st time ever KO), along with giving Manny Pacquiao all he wanted TWICE while Floyd was retired.

    In a nutshell…. that’s why.

  7. Mizzo says:

That means nothing until they lace ‘em up though right? You assume Floyd is a has been because of an 11 month layoff? For some cats, that time off is typical.

Floyd won’t lose any speed and Pac hasn’t fought anyone his caliber. So, like I said, I guess we’ll see.

I will be there for that one.

  8. Temple3 says:

    Mizzo:

I like Manny Pacquiao, but I just don’t see it happening. 11 months isn’t really all that long — even in boxing. There isn’t much difference in their ages — and Floyd is certainly the most talented fighter MP will have fought.

It’s not clear cut that MP will lose — but I can’t really see him taking Floyd down.

  9. Jerold Wells Jr. says:

Major common opponents would be a washed up Oscar De La Hoya and Marquez.

Pac dominated De La Hoya and Mayweather took him 12.

As Okori stated, Marquez took Pac to the limit twice. If Mayweather dusts Marquez then I think he’s the prohibitive fav in the matchup with Pac.

Pacquiao is hot right now and something must be said for that.

  10. Okori says:

and Hatton too. Floyd took him 9. Pac dusted him in 2. And I love how everyone assumes Floyd dusts Marquez. Marquez is terribly well-schooled and a classic counterpuncher.

  11. Mizzo says:

This dude was and is the best pound for pound fighter in the world before he retired Okori…that’s why bruh. Nothing else.

No one is questioning Pac’s talent. To be the best, ya gotta beat the best. I live by that.

  12. Okori says:

Mizz there was actually an argument before the retirement about whether or not Floyd was really the best P4P.

  13. Mizzo says:

    Who was if not Floyd?

  14. Mizzo says:

So you are basically stating that when Floyd Mayweather was an undefeated champion that Pacquiao was a better and more accomplished fighter? Seriously?

  15. Okori says:

    yes. yes i am.

  16. Mizzo says:

You’re buggin. You know you are my dawg though…

  17. Okori says:

Here’s why: Manny actually made an effort to fight tough competition. He fought Juan Manuel Marquez (a indisputably better fighter than anyone Floyd fought in the last 5 years) TWICE. He fought Ricky Hatton at Hatton’s weight and knocked him out in 2 rounds, not 7 pounds to the north like Floyd wanted him to do (and it took Floyd 10 whole rounds to beat a blown-up Hatton). He knocked out a first-ballot Hall of Famer to become the featherweight champion in the world, and ran over him in a way that no one had done before or since.

It’s not that Floyd isn’t a good fighter, cuz only a moron would say he isn’t. It’s that he is not NEARLY as good as he thinks he is. He also has shown a disturbing propensity, this match with Marquez included, to demand that every POSSIBLY tough fight be fought entirely on his terms.

  18. Mizzo says:

That’s what happens when you are the champ.

What is wrong with maximizing your earning power in a sport that is on life support?

His mouth has put him in a position to earn money. It’s part of his hustle bruh.

We’ll see who is the best. Remember this chat.

  19. Okori says:

The problem (and trust me I remember this chat) is not that he’s the champ. It’s that he’s holding himself up as being the best in the world, and then taking fights that A: were not challenges or b: would have been challenges but he took all of the teeth out of them. And then he fights this boring defensive style and expects us all to simultaneously orgasm with glee at seeing someone do the EXACT SAME SHIT Pernell Whitaker did years ago.

If you are the pound for pound best you are expected to be dynamic, to dominate, to fight the top guys around you and beat them. Manny did and has. FLoyd never did.
