Hope you all had a great Mother’s Day weekend. Hold ya Moms down people…everyday. Some links inside and out of sports. Why is everyone saying Glen Davis trucked that kid? Yeah, he pushed him aside, but damn. The hype…

For real, for real? I was about to get all serious for today’s question but the Jeffersons and Good Times got the better of me. Both of those shows have been mad therapeutic lately so I gotta tip my hat to the past.
Anyway, since Temple3 was talking about buying the entire TSF crew nice and frothy Guinness pints, I gotta ask the fellas (and the sistas in case your Chardonnay is a little to dainty) what’s your favorite beer? How did you come about that decision? If not beer then whatever else soothes the mood when it’s time to chill after a meal or when smoke is coming oh so blessed aroma propa like off the grill.
I’m down with the green bottles brothas.
I’ll have a couple of more posts after I get back into town after taking care of some business. Those of you hittin’ up the Happy Hour spot trying to get a whiff of that sensual almost summertime perfume while tossing down a couple work week quenching brews, please don’t drink and drive. It ain’t cool to be dead.
Manny Ramirez allegedly failed a spring training drug test and must serve a 50 game suspension. The drug apparently is used to restart testosterone in the body after coming off a steroid cycle. The Dodgers have the best record in baseball and will have to scramble to replace the Hall of Fame bound (before the suspension) slugger’s production…if they can. I have so many thoughts on this entire era but I think baseball has been complicit. Embarrassing for the sport, but it’s time to man up Bud. All of this in my opinion validates Bonds. Try as some could to paint Barry as Public Enemy #1, but the truth is slowly but surely coming out.
“Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy,” Ramirez said. “Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing: I’ve taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.”
Baseball has a serious problem if they can’t keep their stars on the field. I do think it’s the player’s right to be able to take care of their bodies (as far as the wear and tear 162 games puts on their bodies) but we don’t have enough information in that regard. Apparently, Manny got caught and now has to pay the price…he stands to lose 7 million…but will still walk away with around 38 million.

TNT’s “40 Games in 40 Nights” NBA Playoffs coverage continues on Sunday, May 10th with a special half-hour edition of NBA Tip-Off at 7:30 p.m. ET, followed by the Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic (Game #4) at 8 p.m. ET.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“No, I just made the shot and I think that’s what happens when you start bustin’ someone. They get upset like that and resort to bush league tactics. We’re above that, we’re not into that and we’re just going to play basketball and keep trying to put wins on the board.”
– Celtics guard Eddie House, in an interview with TNT’s David Aldridge after the game, on if he said something to Magic guard Rafer Alston that caused Alston to slap him in the back of the head.

Gotta make the doughnuts. I’d be stupid to complain of having a job in this economy, but missing the playoffs at night is wick, wick, wack. If I’m not texting everyone I know at all kinds of crazy hours, I’m literally going crazy trying to get the results. I hope you all had a good night. It’s 6:27 and after I post this, I’m crashing like J.R. Smith. Anyone need me, text me and I’ll get back to you when I wake up from battling Rip Van Winkle for the most zzzz’s. Be Peace.
Oh…
Question for the TSF fam…Do you want me to report baseball scores? If you want me to, I will. It’s up to you. Anyone notice the reemergence of the stolen base?

Look, the NFL has to do a better job of marketing young Black quarterbacks (Thanks Anthony McClean). With their collective winning records in tow, Jason Campbell and Tarvaris Jackson are in danger of losing their jobs. Jackson’s ineffectiveness aside (they did lose to a better Eagles team by a damn eyelash), what the hell is the difference between Joe Flacco, Matt Ryan, Campbell, Cutler and Jackson. When the Vikings asked Jackson to pass more than 30 times they usually lost. I’m not saying Jackson is a better quarterback, but why the hell are people saying this team is a Super Bowl contender waiting to happen if only they had a better quarterback? The same with DC. Do you know how many teams both would have to leapfrog to become an elite team? So, you ask an aging quarterback with a million interceptions to his credit and with an arm that STILL needs surgery to come in and make Minnesota an elite team?
GTFOH.
Stop swinging…What is this Brett Favre attraction? What will be the answer if Favre comes in and the Vikings suck? Who will be to blame? There’s always someone to blame right? Isn’t that how this works?
Perhaps this is just a bump in the road. Maybe the challenge isn’t really much of a challenge at all. It seems as if ever sports outlet is proclaiming how badly the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to smash the Atlanta Hawks in their playoff match up.
Not so fast.
I’m not ready to call the upset but I can confidently give 3 reasons why the Hawks will compete.
Joe Johnson, Mike Bibby, and Flip Murray can score against the Cleveland back court.
Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson, and Delonte West will never be mistaken for Gary Payton or Mookie Blaylock as perimeter defenders. They’ll score points but they’ll also give up points.
Josh Smith, Al Horford, and Zaza Pachulia have the size and athleticism to challenge LeBron at the rim.

Chauncey Billups is one of the best players to speak with in this business. He’s straight up, contrite, loyal and professional. His game speaks to the same words. The trade from Detroit gave the University of Colorado product a new vigor of basketball soul. I’m sure he feels for his former Detroit brethren…he wouldn’t be him if this were not true…but playing in his hometown is what every athlete wants and desires.
Yes Chris Paul is most likely the best point guard in the NBA and arguably Deron Williams falls closely behind New Orleans’ centerpiece, but to say Chauncey Billups is washed up like many have before the playoffs began is straight stupid. Yeah I said it…stupid.
