Thursday Morning Starting Five: The NBA Finals Edition

Damn, before you know it, we’ll be watching the Super Bowl. Seems like the season blew by like a Derrick Rose crossover or a Ray Allen jumper in your eye. As the Finals begin, what will be the moment we all remember? Will it be Kobe with a Mike like golden mirror kiss or a Dwight Howard portrait on a tearful rebounding portrait?

Finals Preview later on.

La in 7 if Stan actually feeds the big monster Howard.

LA in 4 if Stan doesn’t give Howard the ball like he did against the Celtics.

As far as Kobe crying like mike did after the 91 and 96 finals. That ain’t gonna happen………Kobe seems like a kat who trys to be cool. And crying ain’t cool.

He will break down and cry when he is at home with wifey and the kids.

LA in 6. 5, if the offense is working correctly, and Orlando isn’t hitting it’s outside shots.

They won’t rent to T.O. in Orchard Park, NY:

    From Congressman Steve Cohen:

“It’s a restrain of trade on these kids, and you see it in the NFL and NBA,” Cohen said. “You don’t see it in Major League Baseball. I was watching the [Memphis] Redbirds play … and I was looking at the field and there wasn’t an African-American player on the field when the Iowa Cubs played the Redbirds [in a Triple-A baseball game]. I didn’t see one on either team, and I thought, ‘This is a white sport. And tennis is a white sport. And golf is a white sport. And swimming is a white sport. And hockey is a white sport. And they don’t have these restrictions. But basketball and football are predominantly African-American sports, and that’s where they have the rule that forces players into college [instead of] going straight to the pros. Something here doesn’t compute.”

As an aside, I wouldn’t expect to see any deep emotional displays from any of the ‘leading lights’ unless they experienced a similarly profound loss leading up to the Finals. As long as the Jelly is in the Bean, it’s going to be smiles from cheek to cheek; or pouts from coast to coast.
