Isn't he going to be 33 next season?

I think he would be great in Atlanta, but his outside shooting gives me pause...but not much. ATL has enough outside shooting for him to flex there. He's also big enough to deal with guards and smaller 2's on other teams. I don't know about his lateral quickness in defending penetrating point guards, but that's about it. He's very good -- he just lets his game speak for him...not his agent.

Andre Miller has missed a half of basketball in what 4 or 5 years. He never gets hurt. Andre needs to play with a team that is contending for a championship right now.

He's got at least 4 very good years left because he takes care of his body and conserves energy on the floor. Very quirky player whose game is very difficult to figure out when your are actually in front of him on defense.

One of the most underrated pg's in the league.

He could get twenty a night in the league.

The Sixers want him back bad but I'm pretty sure his heart is elsewhere and it has nothing to do with his profession.

I call him the Reticent Alchemist...

Miz...

I had a question about Andre Miller. Some here in Atlanta want him to come to the Hawks and see him as an overall upgrade over Mike Bibby.

Bibby is an 'old' 30 and just sits on the perimeter and puts up shots. Very streaky shooter and below average defensive player.

Has Andre's skillset gone down to the point that Philly is now considering going in a different direction? Andre is older than Bibby, but how many productive years does Miller have left ?

Yeah, I saw the show. Actually corresponded with Skip beforehand. Judging from his adulation of Curry, the writing is on the wall regarding Andre Miller. I ain't ready for that yet.

Curry is a nice player. I agree with most of what Dre said. I'm not ready to push Kobe to the second spot all time yet, but I understood what he meant.

Miz..

Did you see Andre Iguodola on ESPN2's First Take? Iggy had been using Twitter and called Skip Bayless a "diabolical hater"? ESPN had found out about it and asked Andre to come on their show...

And it seems like Iggy was pushing the Sixers to DRAFT STEPHEN CURRY as well.. he said he like Curry's basketball I.Q. (son of Dell Curry) and should be able to transition well into the NBA...

Temple:

Seriously.... "W" was an intellectual lightweight on the world stage and on top of that he was a true elitist. Bush was more of a well-managed figurehead that was controlled by Dick Cheney (who wasn't afraid, but had a penchant for covert and illegal tactics--mainly from his Nixon White experiences in the 1970's), and it's a shame that they got into White House for those two terms. Bush and his administration took advantage of the 9-11 aftermath and become more bolder in their rhetoric and legislative/executive agenda that threatened the U.S. Constitution.

And for President Obama (who was been office only five months), it will take awhile for him to undo some of the damage.

Patrick:

Seriously...why would a man who has the full support of the US military and the Federal Reserve Bank be "afraid to step foot outside the country."

What, precisely, was he afraid of?

Please don't say "terrorists." Since the biggest and baddest are essentially on the US payroll, that won't "fly."

Comparing the first six months to George Bush and Barack Obama is like night and day.

Bush was afraid to step outside the country and talk to world leaders when he first got into office. It seems like president Obama is embracing it, and the world is responding. By the time Barack leaves office (in eight years–I hope), he would have changed the whole geo-political world map with his time in office.

Thus far, President Obama has been to Canada, Mexico, France for D-Day, Iraq to check out the troops and talk with the troops there, gave a speech to the Muslim World in Cairo, Egypt, and now for July he plans to go to GHANA!

Now Brad Childress is admonishing ESPN that there was really no deadline for Favre to come back... At some point, there is a point of diminishing returns going after the real (team obliterator) Brett Favre...

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9666224/Childress-blasts-ESPN%27s-report-of-Favre-deadline

At what point does this affect the team?

Defensive end Ray Edwards supports Jackson.

"Tarvaris is my quarterback, bottom line," Edwards said. "It's his job to lose."

It seems there is a general consensus that the team supports Tarvaris, but management is giving mixed signals and disrespecting Tarvaris at every turn...

Isn't this Brett Favre thing going way too far? And for the head coach Brad Childress to be the 'point man' or go-between is equally disturbing. The Vikings organization has tried to undermine Tarvaris Jackson development ever since his rookie year, and has to field questions for the past two years about an over-the-hill, over-rated 40 year old QB who fell about down the stretch with the Jets 9which got a coach fired and former teammates such as Thomas Jones was questioning the 'great one'..

Who is driving this in the Vikings' organization? Childress is the 'face'? Is it the treasonous QB coach who was Favre's QB buddy in Green Bay or is it the owner Ziggy Weif? Ziggy ran one black Qb out of town, and now it seems he is trying to make T-Jack say 'uncle'..

Tarvaris helped get the Vikings wins down the stretch during their playoff run.. and still it isn't seen as a growth process, but a failure...I guess that McNabb rule of black Qbs needing to do 'extra' is in full effect?

.....** " Tarvaris Jackson, the Vikings' first, tentative, proposed solution to their quarterback void, doesn't know if he's going to start or be third-string.

The problem is not that he has earned the gift of certainty; it is that if he is going to start, he needs all of the snaps and assurances you can give him.

Instead, he's waiting for ESPN to tell him whether Brett Favre has just boarded a flight to the Twin Cities, and hearing challenges from teammate Pat Williams...." **

I read (I think on Twitter but can't find it now - damn) that Bill Russell was initially denied entrance to the Stapler for Game 2. Unbelievable.

I hear you about Dr. J. My bad for repeating the headline. It's corrected. Stuff is a lot better when I'm not scrambling at 8 scouring the web for content. Was off last night, so I went straight to bed after the game and woke up fresh to def.

Bob Marley. Those lyrics took me back a bit. My number 2 and 3 kids Mom and I used to have that track on repeat while the grill was blaze, the tuna steaks sizzlin' and the Blue Moon going down smoothly.

Mizzo:

"Woke up this morning, up with the rising sun...
3 little birds sing by my doorstep..."

Thanks for the notes. I wanted to clarify that Roy Boe didn't sell Dr. J. He sold the contract under which the New Jersey Nets procured the services of one Julius Erving to work as a "player" in games sponsored by the American Basketball Association. Talk of selling players tends to make me cringe.

I'm glad J.O. is going back to Miami. I think they'll be much better next season. Another year of experience for my guy -- Mario Chalmers -- and Michael Beasley will be great.

I always liked Paul Westphal as a player. He could shoot for days. I remember really enjoying those Phoenix teams that featured him and Walter "The Greyhound" Davis and Alvan Adams. Whew! That was back in the day!!

Great stuff.
