What I should have said is if Shannon Brown continues to ride the pine, there's nothing the Lakers can do with the 1.

Yeah because of expansion and free agency teams are weaker. Flash, LeBron, Melo and Bosh would have gone to veteran laden teams back then.

Shiiiit. I'm going old school too. Loved Penny.

Yeah you know me...

But I think in general teams are just weaker nowadays than they were.

Shaq--Penny Hardaway--Horace Grant--Nick Anderson--Donald Royal--Dennis Scott--Anthony Bowie.

Who ya got?

I'll take the 1994-95 bunch too. I like Hedo, but I'll take young Penny over Hedo and Rafer and Jameer (combined). I'll take Shaq over the rest of the team and play you 2 against 10. :)

I do not believe the Magic guards are automatic against the Lakers. I do believe that Shannon Brown is the only guy who can even remotely slow them down. Fisher and Farmar cannot do it. Brown has to get some PT especially if Rafer comes out hot again. They have to stem the tide of dribble drive penetration. As I said, in the last game, ORL had 23 assists and LA had only 3 blocks. That's not LA basketball. They need 8+ blocks to dominate the middle and keep everyone except for D. Howard on the perimeter.

The Lakers can do without Fisher's offense as long as Ariza continues to knock down open looks. Frankly, if Kobe doesn't go 3-14 late and miss so many freebies, it's a wrap. And guys don't tend to get NEW LEGS in June. If I were the Lakers, I'd be very concerned. Tonite's game will be a true test for Kobe.

LeBron clearly ran out of gas against Orlando. The Magic play a style that conserves energy. They have 3 plays in their top rotation who routinely run baseline to baseline: Howard, Lee and Pietrus. All 3 of them are babes in the woods and only Howard plays heavy minutes. If Kobe has another finish like Game 3, this series will very likely go to 7 games.

I think the whole thing comes down to Kobe's stamina. I guess there are other story lines, but I'll be watching this one most closely.
