I watched the Jackson 5 cartoons on Sat morning, had the coloring book….favorite line from the Cosby Show is when Heathcliff tells Theo the only way he’s supposed to have a $90 shirt is if he’s on stage with his four brothers! The Jacksons were/are icons….Michael is in a whole other stratosphere of entertainment. Can anyone else just walk out on stage. Stand perfectly still for like 5 minutes and then just raise his gloved fist and 80,000 people in a soccer stadium who don’t actually speak English, commence to fainting? Nope.
Miranda, when I think of his shows that’s what I remember the most, people in other countries that didn’t know this man from Adam but wept at his mere presence.
Do they even have a word for something like that…Love maybe?
Even in the midst of his scandals fans across the world still flocked to see this man.
I’m not just saying this because of his passing, but he may have been the most beloved person on the planet.
TBR….Michael Jackson announces 50 concert dates in Europe…and within 4 hours all tickets are GONE…and the man hasnt released anything new in….HOW LONG????? LOL Meanwhile, right here in the USA, ticket sales for concerts have been dismal and it cant be blamed on the economy because its just as as bad overseas. Now I’m reading that the people don’t want refunds, they want tribute concerts!
All I know is….Michael Jackson’s death trumped all news in the whole wide world. The Huffington Post had a pic of people crying in Iran over Michael Jackson. I dont think Jesus Christ himself could push Michael off the front pages today.
I remember Michael?s music videos being eagerly awaited with each song release like thriller and bad. Michael Jackson had such an impact on the music industry and he and his music will be missed.

On a worldwide scale the only person that may be more beloved is Muhammad Ali and that may be debatable.

Thank you for selecting those pictures. He, too, had a long and mighty walk — though it was not as long as we’d hoped.

” it is so sad that the king of pop is already dead… we are going to miss him but his music will be remembered forever “…

When I think about life, I’m reminded of shooting stars and comets, you can see a shooting star just about every night.
Comets are a rarity and many don’t see one in their lifetime.
Michael’s life was a comet, his arrival and untimely passing were an event.

Great pics…..the pics tell the story of the impact he had on the world through his music.
Gone too soon but his spirit lives on through his music.
May his ka (soul) find it’s way into Amen-ta (the underworld) and rest in hetep (peace).
