Tuesday Morning Starting Five: The Is It Football Season Yet Edition

This time of year is horrible for sports. I can’t take all the Michael Vick stuff (all these pundits saying Michael Vick should go to the UFL (ratings) and is a third quarterback are smoking crack) that will go down the next couple of days, so the TV is off. Baseball has lost this fan in terms of watching it daily, so that’s out. What the heck does that leave? Rachel Maddow? Yeah, I dig her, but does she play football? Can she catch a skinny post and take it for six in front of “Prime Time”? Truck a 6’4″ 260 pound speed knockin’ linebacker? See where I’m at? Dammit. This is really bad. Like shopping when the Eagles are on bad. I clamor for the times of Heineken burps and wings mad extra hot when it’s cold outside or sitting up in the press box and seeing the game from a different perspective. Right now, this kinda sucks. CNN dominates the links today. You see something, send it to my box.

There’s been a rash of these bs racial profiling arrests. Wise Intelligent (Myspace) and Paradise Gray of X Clan (Davey D’s Hip Hop Corner) among them.

    Thanks for the links.

Trench Town is no place for the righteous — but then again, it certainly is.

Mizz I got your hookup: THE NFL NETWORK. They got everything you want.

  3. I’ve quenched some of my thirst with my annual purchase of 3 preseason publications and I’m on Fantasy Football League team #6 on ESPN’s site. Other than that, plenty of the NFL Network.

I’m looking forward to getting the online pass. You can watch all the games for something like $20. It means I can spend Sundays in the park and not think about missing games — even though I watch considerably less than I used to.

I enjoy the package because it allows me to really focus in on matchups. I can get a good look at how certain teams work their running game or how one team tries to nullify a superstar on defense like Mario Williams or Ed Reed. It also means I don’t need to watch those silly Sunday morning shows where they only talk about the Cowboys and Patriots for 3 hours.

Gawd, its time for another “Black in America” from CNN already? geez…..(sigh)…..I didnt like the first series and from what I’ve read already on cnn’s site, I wont care for this one, so I’ll skip it.

Its hard out there for a pimp….Falcons owner needed some capital, had to get his hustle on:

That was VERY cool of Tyler Perry, those kids will never forget this.

Oh yeah, Reality TV is a cancer, a very violent cancer. Am I the only one that really really really can’t stand it?
