There are events in history that when we look back we shake our collective heads because of the absurdity of it all. Fire hoses, lynchings, cats getting dragged, all White juries, making Black face the race of crime, Black scholars getting embarrassed in their own homes, rappers being violated, “mistake” shootings, “mistake” beatings, New Year’s Day videotaped murders, etc.

When Barack Obama was elected POTUS, you heard this mass groundswell of how America is now a post racial society. It was euphoric. Apparently, there is no more racism so basically shut the hell up Black people, Brown people and whoever the hell else wants to whine about prejudice and discrimination because you got what you wanted. You can now call one of your own president. I told you all there would be a backlash.

Do you feel the backlash. Everyone from Rachel Maddow’s boy to probably ya paper boy…if you have one…wants “their” country back. You might not hear it yet, but trust me some are saying it. All types of frustrated and very much disillusioned folk are gonna act out. There is a blame game and it begins with whoever doesn’t carry your first and last name. White folk if you are on the good side of the fence, then you are now on the clock. Speak up or forever hold your peace. Oh, you are shook too? Thought so. Prove me wrong. I could give a damn if you call yourself my friends, family, associates, acquaintances…it’s time to put up or shut up.

Black people trigger your consciousness.

Sotomayor…health care…Delaware…it’s everywhere…

This is why I go so damn hard on the media. This is why I bitch when the most minimal thing happens because I know the racial psychology of it all speaks of a racist past and a not giving a #*&$ future. It’s obvious where it comes from…where it leads to and when illogical Black writers, reporters, journalists, editors, publishers, readers…what the heck ever…capitulate just to be down with the mainstream, I’m gonna call you out. I’m gonna call you out every chance I get for letting dumb stuff off the hook because ya shook.

You may not think this is something that should be reported, but trust it’s the beginnings of something that could be very unfortunate for us all.

Look at what is happening now America. Look yourself in the damn face. You are shook. Little kid with a big guy like me chasing you shook. Barack can’t get a word in edgewise because a lot of you think you made a huge mistake in voting him the 44th.

Black people wonder why he says the future is up to us? He’s right! Realize that. Could you imagine being in the White House and hearing grumblings from all across America? It ain’t just about us as Black folk. This is about all of us. Stop being so damn selfish. We control our own destiny. We control our own legacies. We control our own consciousness. If you want to run with others at the expense of your own mind, that’s on you, but why not document what we do as a people first as it relates to a total contribution of American “values”? We all have our distinct qualities, use them or lose them.

Don’t expect scrutiny will disappear just because your face is the same color as mine.

This birth certificate thing materialized way before the election and these nuts whine and cry and bitch and moan because they want a country that was never theirs back? This mess is disgusting. First he was Muslim (like there’s anything wrong with that). Now he’s born in Kenya and because Barack is basically starting from scratch and opening up his arms to the world you think he’s some kind of anti-American crook?

I hope he never loses his keys on the way home. Could you imagine that?
