Gotta weigh in coz of Triple 5 Soul mention. Media is so stupid, and as Temple so aptly said, there's some animal insecurity among the Guardians of the Game that the conscious, seasoned, experienced, smart black man not appear the voice of reason. They might not say it that way, but that's how it is, no doubt. Triple 5 must wonder if he lives in a backwards universe where everything that sane people think is intelligent, is pilloried. I know a lot of you smart black fellas know this. Anyway, from this white man, can't have more respect for #5. Been lovin' his low-key, quiet assassin mentality since he came into the league. As you guys said, as cool as he is, he's still not a machine and a memoir from him would seriously, seriously name some names, probably again in a low-key but perhaps more devastating way for being so low-key, way. Anyway, as you guys also said, I'm sure Jay Cutler will meditate on what D said to him. It shouldn't matter what color skin good advice comes from that will fortify you, and people of any sense know that.

Something I missed yesterday was A. Reid saying that McNabb's career is HOF worthy. I think he's accomplished enough, M. Faulk and K. Warner got in the way of a few MVP's but with the victories TD to INT ratio, I believe he's in. Although I'm pretty sure 40, 000 passing yards would make him a lock.

They did a poll on Comcast 55% said that he isn't a HOFer.

Guess they're still holding out for Jaws.

That's really the heart of the matter. The visual power of Cutler being the pupil is not lost on these people. A good chunk of their identity is predicated on the myth that all whites are smarter, wiser, better than all blacks. McNabb's conversation put that lie on BLAST.

In the real world, people deal man to man (or person to person), not -ism to -ism. But, if your salary is based on "Fanatic-ism," how can you even begin to understand what went down? How can you use that teaching moment to help you with your family -- with your children -- with your other loved ones?

You can't. You can, however, hate it -- and take that to the bank. I've always maintained that DMac was too good for the Eagles and Philly (most of it anyway).

BTW -- Eric...I don't think TB sucks. They're having growing pains. 3 Qbs in one season...just beat Green Bay. Hard to play even and focused against New Orleans especially when you don't have run stoppers on defense. You'll be alright once you draft some heft.

Get well soon ED, The Bucs are gonna be a force real soon.

One sports radio host said yesterday that Cutler should've pulled away from McNabb once the cameras noticed the length of the convo.

Glad Cutler stuck around to at least listen.

What up ED.

That young man Josh Freeman is the truth.

Harvey I agree with with everything you said brotha. Sam and Wilma did a hell of a job raising that man. I always compare Mcnabb and the William sisters to how they perform and stand tall under so much hate.

Yeap their parents did a great job.

And I swear I will be right behind you to buy that memoir. Man talk about juicy...........that book may have more dirt then a soap opera.

Sam and Wilma raised a man is all I can say. I'm no fan at all of Jay Cutler but he gets respect from me after last night for listening to an old head who's been through the NFL media storms. Triple Soul 5 wasn't telling him anything wrong and if Cutler's ready to take that next step he'll take the advice to heart and live up to his talent and expectations.

@TBR--I feel you bruh when it comes to that section of Eagles' fans who criticize everything McNabb does because they always see some hidden, sinister motive behind every smile or comment he makes not to say nothing of what they say about his play. I've said it before that the only reason I still watch the NFL is to see the Eagles and hopefully McNabb win a SuperBowl but after that believe me it's a wrap because the nattering nabobs of negativity that surround the NFL wearies me and I just watch the games. Imagine how it is for the players especially those who aren't the golden boys but rather the ones tied to the whipping posts. McNabb's been tied there since Day 1 and it's nothing but a testament to him and his upbringing that he still smiles just as brightly as he did back in '99 when Tagliabue gave him that Eagles hat.

I can't wait until he retires and sits down and writes his memoir about his playing career because no one can be that cool to let all this stuff slide of his back.

Comes with the territory though and believe me Philly's going to regret the day he leaves more than any other athlete.

Hello folks,

I missed you guys had to go to the hospitial for my fistula and missed the banter of the fam, VY looks like hs's getting it and I agree with Steve Young that if VY keeps developing he will be unstoppable at QB. My Bucs suck major league ASS but we may get Shu or Cody.

Yeah I agree Temple. I am sure Mcnabb dropped some knowledge on him...........even though the fans and media in Chicago is nothing and I mean nothing like Philly.

@TBR - Brotha it is sick and sad to read the forums and hear those fools on the radio.......such haters.

I think they are even more pissed because Mcnabb spoke with Cutler because they can't make it seem like Mcnabb was looking out for another black QB (just like you said). I have never seen one man get crapped on by his home town fans and media for the most simple mess in my life.

I mean really!!!

These clowns on the airwaves are spinning this to make it look like McNabb is making this about himself again. McNabb is telling Cutler that he's been through the same thing and in many cases is still dealing w/the B.S. on the daily. How is that being self-centered? The media is pissed because 1. There's no race card to spin and 2. They know every word McNabb spoke to Cutler was gospel. Media heads around the league see how unappreciated he is and the Philly media hates that so all they want to do know is pile on what they've put out there. It really gotten old.

I may be ready to trade in my colors after this season.

Mizzo brotha Mcnabb is a class act. And like clock work the haters in the philly media and fans are calling Mcnabb out for talking with Cutler.

First they said Mcnabb was sticking up for a black QB when he spoke with Russel earlier in the year. Now he speaks with Cutler and its a problem.

What a joke.
