They are banged up in the secondary. Sharper will not have the opportunities he's had in the past to jump routes against Brady and Moss.

He and Woodson are battling for Defensive Player of the Year.

Like I told Temple yesterday, this game comes down to game experience and professionalism.

I'd go with Brady and Moss over anyone the Saints can come with. Throw out the stats. Throw out the records. This game will be decided by a few plays made by big players.

As far as NO, that Philly game just sticks in my crawl as an indicator. Kolb keeps the offense on the field and it's a different story.

The Colts beat the Pats. New England has lost to rivals (Jets and Colts) and Denver when Denver was rock.

They're 7-3. What is that maybe one or two games off their normal pace?

What does that make them the Spurs of the NBA? Just waiting for the real season to begin because the regular season doesn't offer any challenge...lacks the big picture appeal?

This is essentially a playoff game right?

Fred Taylor being out and Maroney's ineffectiveness (for whatever reason) are obviously concerns, but if any team can pull it together it's the Pats.

Looking down the road, I see this team and the Steelers playing for the AFC.

Big players step up.

Gotta agree w/ T3 on this one. The Patriots haven't beaten anyone convincingly in order for me to give them the top spot. Neither have the Colts. I think that the way the Chargers are playing right now, they deserve some consideration for the top 5.

I think the Saints will beat the Pats because they have just too many weapons on offense: Colston, Henderson, Meachem, Shockey, Bush, P. Thomas, Moore, Bell AND Drew Brees. Everyone they have on offense can make a big play at any point during the game. How can you defense that?

They've also shown that if they fall behind, they have the firepower to mount a comeback. I don't think that the Pats want to get in a shootout with the Saints. I think that would be playing to their (the Saints) advantage. If i'm the Saints, I want to pound the rock with Thomas, Bell and Bush. If that running game is going, the Patriots can forget it.

I've been saying all year that if the Saints defense stays consistent, no one will beat them this year. Darren Sharper has been the difference for the Saints on defense but never gets mentioned for defensive player of the year. However, he might be the reason why the Saints beat the Pats on monday night (pick 6). :-)

Patrick the Saints are the obvious choice. Gotta flip it sometime right?

I go all the way back to Saints/Philly when Kevin Kolb...making his first NFL start...put up 391 (3 picks) against the Saints. What would Donovan have done?

The Colts and Pats are traditional rivals, so that's a toss up. Speaking with Baltimore's Suggs a while back, the Colts scheme seems to frustrate defenses with all their trickery...hence the regular season success (Think Suns).

As I've mentioned, I don't think there is a dominant team, so like last year, anyone can take the cake.

Check back for this weekend's picks tomorrow...eh...later today.

How good are the Bengals after losing a 'trap game' vs. the Oakland Raiders? Cincinnati has a chance to redeem themselves with two games versus Detroit and Cleveland. Before the Bengals meet the Vikings, Cincinatti should have already wrapped up the AFC North.

I would have to nominate New Orleans as the top team in the Week 12 power rankings. Of course, the pending New England-Saints matchup on Monday night football will give us an answer of who is better. To me, Indianapolis has been more vulnerable his year. Despite their undefeated record, the Colts have been in many defensive dogfights with San Francisco, Jacksonville, Houston and most recently Baltimore. Just like Peyton, the Colts team rack up the regular season accolades and fantasy stats, but ususally sputter in the playoffs at some point.

The Steelers are always in the Top 10, but they have gotten a scare from Big Ben's increasing propencity to get a concussion and with Charlie Batch out for nearly two months, it may come down to Dennis Dixon to save the day or 2009 season.
