Sorry...let me do this again

KD

CP3 is going through some growing pains now but he's still a top PG in the LIG and I'm agitating for a trade, AI's status notwithstanding, because I think that a change of scene would get his mind back on the game.

Miz

You can say "I told you so" because you called it but I'm still waiting for the Sixers to officially sign him before I believe it. He would be a good fit with this Sixers team playing with a potential force in the middle in Elton Brand and Marrese Speights then with Lil AI on the wing and Lou Williams potentially coming off the bench. The thing is will AI buy into what Eddie Jordan is selling and come on board as a soldier ready to help the team win. I'd love to see #3 back in red, white, and blue and even though I didn't see even the potential of it happening I'll be just as excited as you, Miz, when it does happen.

Re: Tiger's Fender Bender
Damn! Who knew Elin had that much soul? Tiger better leave them blonde ice princesses alone.

Miz-Nice write up. I love that Ai is going back to Philly and love the fact that he will likely start and have a chance to show he is still a force..

I forget that you're out of Philly. Did I ever mention to you that Clifford Brown is from Wilmington? One day I'm definitely going to visit his gravesite.

HD-I don 't think CP3 in Philly would make them contenders. CP3 is IMO, extremely uni-dimensional and over-rated. I doubt he'll ever win a ring.

LOL at Tiger. Dude has used his "Opt Out" clause to avoid actually being black. I think he's about to find out what's what.

Beautiful column, Miz, and I really feel the love you have for Philly, the Sixers, and AI in this article, warts and all. AI is a true Sixer like you said and still has the skill set to be a viable player in the NBA but this ain't no fairy tale because you know better than most of us on this board about the inner workings of sports teams and while winning is nice nowadays these organizations place just as much of an emphasis on public relations. AI was always bad for the bottom line of the Sixers and Stern's league because he was a true maverick who refused to follow the track laid out by Jordan. He was going to rock his 'rows and his tats and roll with his 'posse' while sporting saggy jeans and a white T. He was young, black, and hip-hop to his core and all the fines and mainstream media condemnation wasn't going to change that. But just as he was bad for business in the PR sense he had that transcendent athletic ability and intelligence that wasn't going to be denied and by remaining true to himself he was able to will himself to all his awards, accolades, and team wins. He also forced the powers that run not just the NBA but sports in general to accept him on his own terms because he stayed true to himself, his adopted city, his team, and the game. The Devil however is in the details and we all know that Shaitan never sleeps but waits patiently for his opening. Ol' Scratch got his opening when the trade rumors started concerning AI because that was the crack needed to raise doubts about the only thing the mainstream could never question and that was his talent. Now three teams later AI is out of the game he loves by his choice only in the strictest sense of the word.

I think we'll see Iverson on an NBA roster again before all is said and done but it won't be in Philly and he won't be the featured player anymore. It will happen but AI will have to swallow hard and accept a more limited role even if it means coming off the bench because for all his heart and realness no GM is going to build a team around a six nothing shoot first point guard on the wrong side of thirty. Those are the facts and even though BubbaChuck is the Type A, big dog personality he needs to get his internal mute button going and just be a good soldier and play his role until his chance comes around again. That's going to be difficult but it will have to be done if he wants back into the Lig.

PS. Miz, tell a bald-faced lie and get the news out the Sixers are interested in CP3 to get some kind of buzz going on that. Paul, Brand, and Iggy on the same team will tear the LIG up and we both know this, mang.
