Allen Iverson Rejoins the Philadelphia 76′ers

I’m not bragging by any stretch (not at all), because this was a natural move the minute he left for Denver. Just so happens their young point guard Lou Williams goes down with a broken jaw so the move had to be made. All along, the Sixers front office told me personally “there was no chance of this happening.”

Allen’s departure was not a good one and pride on both sides made the split irreconcilable despite his love for the city and the fans love for the Answer. The irony of the moment is movie worthy because in succession, the Sixers face Denver on December 7th and Detroit the 9th…his former teams…two games in a five game home stand that concludes with Cleveland on December 16th. How will Allen work out with the team and the coaching staff? Will he pass left out of the pick and roll? Defense? How does he figure in the offense where the guards have a major impact? We will see on the 7th. I personally feel this is a great move and Allen will return to his true form. His body is still intact and the time on the bench will actually help.

Move is for the rest of the year. No terms disclosed.

It’s obvious this is a financial move as well but there’s no denying Allen Iverson is a Sixer no matter what the circumstances.

Press release from the Sixers.

Quick question. Why does it seem that Philly fans love Iverson, but hate McNabb? They both have the same number of trophies in the case. They are both elite players and have always been among the best in their position. Both have been short cut by ownership trying to win on the cheap.

    Just curious. Thanks.

The “love” Philly has for Iverson is overstated. It’s about the same as McNabb. Yeah, they cheer for AI, but they were quick to call him all manner of thug, nigger, etc. when they got pissed.

Iverson gives the media here what they want. 5 does not.

Nah, you braggin’. Heck, you should brag man. You totally called it. I agree with what Big Man said….they’re quick to jump on AI when he does something wrong. I hope for the best for this move. Definitely seems a good fit since this is an exciting, fast team.

Eating my crow, Miz, with some tobasco sauce and Lawry’s seasoning salt.

You called it and I got it wrong because I don’t believe in fairy tales or their endings but maybe this one time I will. Glad to know that starting next week I’ll get to see The Answer back with the Sixers and maybe just maybe some wins will come of this.

Staying humble of course TC. The sharks won’t get me fam.

2 Fam… I’ve been eating crow this entire NFL season with my picks so no pro. His heart was still here. If you read the Denver return piece, I alluded to the “tears behind his face” Dude never left. The questions I ask will define the moment. Since the contract is not guaranteed, he could be gone at any second depending on his behavior…which is crazy to even try to grasp. I have a lot of thoughts relative that I’ll keep to myself. Figadeal?

You oughta floss a bit when you get a call like this right…..but k….better be on the safe side. Anyway, we heard ya.

I’m rooting for the Sixers in the East for the rest of the year.

  9. [...] way with fans. Philly is beginning to buzz about the Sixers for the first time since Iverson left, returned (I called it here) and left again; Thad has done everything that has been asked of him, is a great [...]
