I gotta go with KevDog on this. The debate itself is an insult to the superiority of J.Kidd. I understand your point Mizzo, but if any young buck tries to claim in 2030 that Steve Nash was the best PG of the ’00s, I’ll just point out Kidd’s assist, rebound, defense numbers. Yeah, Nash won 2 MVPs and he’s a real nice player, but the 2 MVPs were ridiculous. Maybe the first one….maybe……but absolutely not two.

Jerold, to what does he owe his two MVP awards? Get out of the moment and scrutinize your aforementioned list. They have no MVP awards.

He made Amar’e better? Really? How? Banging it on dudes head…off the oop or on the break…with the power and fury of a Chuck Barkley dunker’s uncle?

With these rules, his athletic control in and out of the lane allows him to pick and choose where to pass the ball without being physically pummeled.

I don’t care if his numbers were 15 and 15. Hell 15 and 20. There is nothing logical that Steve Nash deserved ONE MVP award when Jason Kidd has none and TWO Finals appearances.

Numbers are inflated because of the system and the system is flawed because of its dubious propensity to not win in the playoffs. EVER.

Terrell Lowery at Loyola Marymount. Was he ever considered the best guard in college history based on his output?

Mark Price would murder Steve Nash…give him Tyson bolos with those shoulders he used to get in and out of the lane (old rules) rather than bust your knee caps and all that with sick triples.

Just because he’s the White dude to be respected does not an MVP make. His talent has nothing to do with race. Great player. Overstated by history. Race is added by others who seek to place him among the GOAT.

How does he have the same amount of MVP trophies as Kobe and LeBron? More than Payton and Kidd? Iverson and Webber? Robinson and Dream? Mo Malone and Isiah Thomas? Fat Lever and Alvin Robertson? Wilkins and Ice Man? Doc and Dennis Johnson?

C’mon man! Get out of here with that shit. That list is ridiculous and just off the top of my head.

Let’s inflate his numbers and give him 6 great seasons. I mean great. Does that alone permit his inclusion into the HOF? Why?

If he were black? Come on Okori. If he were black….. WITH THOSE NUMBERS….. he’d be considered among the best ever. Of all time. In the history of the game.

I like Kidd. HOFer for sure. I also happen to be a Nash apologist. He’s to my generation what Stockton, Mark Price, and Chris Mullin were to my big brothers and uncles….. The white dude that demands respect. He gets wherever he to wants to on the court. He’s a flawless pick and roll player. Great shooter, crafty in the paint, good with both hands around the basket.

Dude made A’mare better. He made Shawn Marion a multi millionaire. He made Dirk better.

He doesn’t play defense. Okay……. And? Few in the NBA do.

Would I take him over Kidd? No I wouldn’t. I think JK, even without a consistent jumper, is the best PG of his generation. I also think if he could score like Nash can he’d he top 3 all time.

Jason Kidd > Tiny Archibald > Chauncey Billups > Kevin Johnson > Steve Nash

BUT Nash is still a great player. Not a GOOD player, a GREAT player. Or, at the VERY least, a DAMN GOOD player.

Great question. But because he’s from Canada (hockey anyone) and basketball isn’t even his first sport (soccer), got robbed by Robert Horry of a chance to play in the Finals and was the best player in the NBA, twice, I’d give it to Nash.
