Buckhalter made plays. I liked him and wished that it had worked out differently, but HD, you're right on...it's all about whether or not Morninwheg and Reid want to bring the wood. They didn't learn the Alstott Lesson (FB's Fumble in Playoffs), so I'm optimistic.

T3

I wouldn't say Buck was brittle just more unlucky than anything else with three knee injuries because when he's been able to get past those he's been a solid backup especially his last two seasons in Philly. If the playcalling hadn't went away from him the Eagles wouldn't have had to go after Thomas.

Westbrook and brittle though is another matter. Tough player and I enjoyed him as an Eagle but he was the epitome of injury prone.

Just read about the Mike Bell offer today and I like it. Team him with Shady McCoy and Weaver clearing the lane for the both of 'em and the Eagles should be able to get the hard yards they haven't been able to the past few seasons. The caveat is as long as Reid and Morningwheg know when to make the right call and go to the gritty, snot-blocking offense that's needed from time to time in championship football.

Hoping and wishing the Saints don't match.

I've been moving so I haven't had a chance to post but what in the blue blazes is up with Peter King campaigning to get McNabb traded from Philly this offseason? I know #5 gets no respect from the MSM and a vocal minority of Eagles fans but King took it to another level with this column.

Here's the link:

The last time the Eagles went down this path, they drafted a brittle fumbler in Buckhalter. This should work out better.

I guess it all depends on what the Saints plan to do w/ Bush. If they want to keep Bush, they may let Bell walk.

Now that the Eagles have made an offer to Mike Bell, I'll take them off my $hit list. It will be interesting to see if the Saints let him go.

Now you guys can FINALLY run and score touchdowns in the Red Zone! There ought to be a parade if the Saints don't match.

We know what a QUALITY special teams player Baskett has been. I know the Saints absolutely love him. He did more for them than Reggie Bush and Cortney Roby -- combined. Great pick up by the Eagles.

ROTFLMBAO.

Just a word of caution -- the last time the Eagles picked up a guy from the Rams with upside, it turned out to be Kevin Curtis. If you don't like Curtis, don't sign off on Amendola.

I can see why Mizzo is so salty. And to think, Stephen Jackson, Frank Gore and Maurice Jones-Drew could have been rockin' the green and white.

GN: I just hope that Dennis Dixon is busting his ass in the film room right now. He needs to be grinding right now and forget about a vacation. GRIND, GRIND, GRIND!!

I'm trying to pick apart the re-signing of Hank Baskett and why is this being passed off as a pickup for special teams and depth at the receiver spot.

The Eagles had two good young receivers in Danny Amendola and Brandon Gibson. Baskett couldn't break the starting lineup in Indy and they started a rookie and a second year receiver. He uses his height poorly and has no hands - as evidenced in the Super Bowl.

Wow.....I honestly thought Foote would end up in Arizona (Pittsburgh West).

I like the move. Foote was solid playing the middle whereas Timmons is still 'finding his way'.

One thing's for certain, they're are definitely addressing the 'depth' issue from last year.

GN:

The Steelers resigned Larry Foote.

Good move. If they had him last year, they would have been better off. It might have cost them the Viking game (Keyaron Fox return for TD), but otherwise, they would have been much stronger overall.
