Turner Sports Announces TNT and NBA TV 2010 NBA Playoffs Schedule

Turner Sports announced the first round schedule of the 2010 NBA Playoffs for TNT and NBA TV along with its announcing crews for the postseason.  The action gets underway on Sunday, April 18, when the network presents a first-round tripleheader.  The first game will feature Dwight Howard and the defending Eastern Conference Champion Orlando Magic hosting Gerald Wallace and the Charlotte Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. (ET).  That game will be followed by Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs visiting Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks at 8 p.m. (ET).  The final game of the night gets underway at 10:30 p.m. (ET) and will feature Steve Nash and the Phoenix Suns taking on LaMarcus Aldridge and the Portland Trail Blazers.  Following the game, the Emmy® Award-winning Inside the NBA studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith will wrap up the night’s action.

TNT’s announcing teams for the network’s coverage of the Playoffs, including exclusive coverage of the entire Western Conference Finals, include play-by-play announcer Marv Albert and analyst Reggie Miller and Kevin Harlan (play-by-play) and Doug Collins (analyst).  In addition, Dick Stockton will team with analyst Mike Fratello and Matt Devlin will call play-by-play alongside NBA TV analyst Kevin McHale.  Veteran announcer Ian Eagle will also work select games for the network.  Sideline reporters will include Craig Sager, David Aldridge and Cheryl Miller, with Marc Fein, Dei Lynam and Marty Snider returning to the network for onsite reports during early-round coverage.

NBA TV will also provide extensive coverage of the 2010 NBA Playoffs with live games, daily studio shows, and press conferences shown in their entirety.  The network will tip off its coverage on Thursday, April 15 with the Eastern Conference Preview Show at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Western Conference Preview Show at 8 p.m. ET.  NBA TV’s announcing crew will include hosts Matt Winer and Rick Kamla and analysts Chris Webber, Brent Barry, Steve Smith, Eric Snow and Dennis Scott. In addition, TNT announcers will make guest appearances on NBA TV programming, appearing on the network’s studio shows and filing reports from game sites.

TNT’s exclusive coverage of the Western Conference Finals will feature a live studio show originating from the game locations with Johnson, Smith and Barkley joined by Reggie Miller for the entire series.  Albert and Collins will call the Western Conference Finals, with Sager reporting from the sideline.

I am so pumped for the NBA playoffs to start.. you have the four hottest teams in the east you a lot of people expect to move on, but people are saying Miami can upset the Celtics.. can Lebron get back to the Championship? Can Kobe repeat? Does Orlando have what it takes now that they have vinsanity. Kevin Durant getting his Oklahoma City Thunder into the playoffs.. and Kobe vs Durant? It doesn’t get any better…

For a preview, prediction and poll for all western conference match-ups with a link to all eastern conference match-ups go to: http://www.lionsdenu.com/nba-playoffs-western-conference-round-one-preview-predictions/

And how good is the Western conference? Any, and I mean ANY team could move on. Every team in the West has over 50 wins and is extremely skilled. Considering they’ve won 7 of the last 11 NBA finals (all won by Lakers and Spurs) … I could see the West winning it again.
