If the Eagles are smart they would take S Nate Allen and MLB Brandon Spikes or DT Terrence Cody in the second round, they can make it happen - there will be alot of movement early in the round for Jimmy Clausen and Colt McCoy.

That would be a definite gift if he landed in the Steelers lap. Baltimore could use him as well. If the Broncos don't take him watch the posturing for Bryant begin.

We already talked about Dez Bryant. Bucky Brooks and Charlie Casserly were high on him, though. Casserly thinks he may go to the Ravens. As I've said, if his only transgression is trying to have a black agent and keeping white folks out of his pocket, he'll probably be one heck of a player.

He may still be around after the Steelers pick.

I don't like Tate in the first round. People are comparing him to Hines Ward. If that's the case, he should be discussed as no more than a 3rd round pick -- like Ward.

He made some great plays for ND, but ND has been largely unimpressive. Tate was not as highly touted as the last 2 receivers from ND. Jeff Samardzija is playing baseball and Rhema McKnight is out of work.

The Steelers can do better. The scouting report on Tate says he doesn't have a deep speed gear and doesn't do well catching balls away from his body. That's going to mean he'll get ruthlessly shut out vs. the Bengals and Ravens. No thanks.

I don't think McClain is going to be around for the Giants. I'm going to be pissed if the Bengals get Gresham.

I feel you on the Plan B for the Steelers -- and you're right, this is a lot of work. Nice job.

I saw on the NFL Network that Maurice Pouncey might go the Steelers at 18. I don't like the pick. I think 18 is way too high to take a center. The franchise history doesn't suggest that they'd place that kind of premium on a center.

From 1974 to 2000, the team had two centers (Webster and Dawson) and since then, they've gone with free agents or lower round picks. Center is a position of weakness, but the need is not as great as it is at CB.

The team needs depth at wide receiver too. They re-signed ARE and Arnaz Battle, but they're not game breakers and Hines Ward is getting older every day. Limas Sweed is a total bust. He's back, but we won't know about him until he gets busted in the chops by a Ravens linebacker in Week 4. That's too long to wait.

The team is aging on the D-line and at DT. Pouncey's decent, but if they take him, he better become a perennial Pro Bowler or this will be a blown pick.
