MODI:

I guess it's a wrap.

The sad thing about watching the Hawks is that they have so much talent and their ongoing challenges, fairly or unfairly, are deeply rooted in their selection of Marvin Williams. It was a bad decision then and it only looks worse every time they walk on the court.

Atlanta with Chris Paul or Deron Williams is a 60+ win team and a serious contender for an NBA title. The casualties of that selection will ultimately be Mike Woodson and some promising player to be named later who can demand some fair compensation in trade.

This team is really hard for me to watch -- you just know they're going to implode in big games. If they're clear about what's on the line here, they'll win this series...if they lose, some folks better start looking for moving companies.

With that said, is there any way that this team wins a road playoff game without a true point guard?

There were so many possessions in that game where the absence of a lead guard became painfully apparent.

Aren't the Hawks done once they lose home court advantage? Or, were they simply looking past the Bucks without Bogut and just saving themselves for the likes of Orlando and Cleveland?

good stuff. Nice to hear that from Jamal. And I couldn't be happier for him finally making the playoffs.

I have been a Jamal critic in the past because he is just so talented, but always had poor shot selection. However, this is the year where he really focused on it. For years there was no safer bet in basketball that Jamal would end the year shooting 41% (whether starting or coming off bench). None. However, this year he jumps to 45%. It is unheard of for an athlete to fundamentally change their game in their 10th season. I've attributed it all to shot selection, but maybe there is something else. I don't know if you got into all that in the second part, but I wonder what Jamal says.

Finally, the greatest individual performance that I have ever seen is when Jamal dropped 52 on the Heat. He hit something like 16 shots in a row and only one was a lay-up and only like three free throws. none of his shots were gimmes. All 18 footers, many off-balance. It was the definition of the word "zone". It was simply amazing. Even MJ never topped that night.
