Would Bryce Harper be as Celebrated if He Skipped Two Years of High School As a Basketball Player?

Definitely a phenom, but where’s the outcry?

As Washington Nationals pitcher Steven Stasburg makes his much anticipated Major League debut tonight vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates, just yesterday, 17 year old Bryce Harper was selected number 1 by the same team in the MLB draft. Harper batted .443, hit 31 homers and drove in 98 RBI’s in one college season on the JUCO level in a wood bat conference. He skipped his final two years of high school (got his GED).
