The career of Vince Young reached dire straits yesterday as his relationship with head coach Jeff Fisher has gone far to the left. When will people start looking at Fisher as the potential problem here? Also Who is the best team in the NFC?

When will some of the national media stop kissing the asses of some of these head coaches? Just because you’ve been around for awhile doesn’t mean you’re necessarily doing the right thing. Some of the wording being used in this latest Vince Young/Jeff Fisher episode is really questionable. Words and phrases like “tantrum”, “meltdown”, “pouting” and “he’ll have to answer to” all indicate that Young has long been the antagonist in this relationship and once again is reacting the only way he knows how. When will some one even throw a hint of blame in Fisher’s direction? I doesn’t matter how long he’s been anywhere – Fisher’s moves and relationship with Young have been questionable at best. It’s obvious that Fisher is more comfortable with anyone but Young under center. Kerry Collins is simply not the quarterback for this offense and gives the position one dimension. Young has been effective and successful in this system but seems to play on a short leash. Jeff Fisher’s teams haven’t reached the playoffs in 7 seasons (only three times since Super Bowl XXXIV) and he’s considered a top ten coach? But then again this is the same organization the locked out Steve McNair from team facilities while he was still under contract. I wonder how this exact scenario would’ve played out in Pittsburgh or Indianapolis?

Who is the best team in the NFC? Personally, I’m not ready to crown anyone just yet. The Atlanta Falcons (8-2) seem to be the Flavor of the Month but the Bears, Eagles, Packers and Saints all at 7-3 are in the mix. The Giants at 6-4 are still a factor in all of this. There is alot of football left to be played but the jousting for position is at a Black Friday pitch. The Packers defeated the Eagles and face the Falcons this week. The Eagles defeated the Falcons and Giants, lost to the Packers and face the Bears this week. The Bears defeated the Packers, lost to the Giants and face the Eagles on Sunday. The Giants defeated the Bears, lost to the Eagles and face the Packers in Week 16. The Falcons defeated the Saints and lost to the Eagles and have a date with Green Bay on Sunday. The Saints lost to the Falcons and face them again in Week 16. Not to be lost in all of this are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who at 7-3 have losses at the hands of the Saints and Falcons but are winners of four of their last five games and are gathering steam each week.

Damn….its McNair revisited….VY was told to leave the team facilities today in Nashville…aint that bout a bitch?

  2. ks says:

    Hey Miranda,

Just saw that too. Fisher needs a good pimp hand slap. And this is after the owner told them to work it out right?! He must know that the media is going to have his back.

  3. Miranda says:

    It gets worse
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5843438

they’ve updated that story because the first time I read it, Fisher said VY wouldn’t be allowed on the sidelines during games either!

  4. Origin says:

Wow Miranda Fisher is such a liar. Remember before the season Bulluck and Earnest Byner called him out for lying to them too. Then when he speaks to the media its a totally different story.

  5. Miranda says:

I didn’t even bother to take a look at the comments because i just know Jemele is being called everything but a child of God.

Is race still an issue for NFL QBs?

  6. Origin says:

This is the info I got from he Tennessean website.

“Sources said Young showed up for a team meeting and was told he wasn’t needed. The source said he has not “necessarily been “banned” from the facility, and he could return at a later date. Although there were further indications that Coach Jeff Fisher doesn’t currenlty doesn’t want Young around.”

On top of that Fisher contacted VY’s agent and told him he was on IR. But never told the agent that VY was not allowed at the team facility. VY then shows up and Fisher has an assistant tell VY he isn’t allowed in the facility.

  7. Origin says:

Dang Miranda its like she has been reading this website. I am critical of Ms. Hill but I have to give her props on this.

In saying all of that Fisher is still a bitch ass lying punk.

  8. Origin says:

Here is Bullucks comment this year after VY was benched against the Steelers.

“They are 1–1, right?,’’ Bulluck responded when asked if he was surprised by Young’s benching. “We were 0–6 last year and we were getting out (butt) kicked in New England and the quarterback didn’t get benched. But I wouldn’t say I’m surprised. That’s just how they do things down there, man.”

  9. Miranda says:

WOW…..smh…..this is utterly ridiculous. Well, I guess Fisher is going to force Bud Adams to make a decision. Evidently Fisher feeling pretty froggy, so lets see how far he wants to jump.

  10. Origin says:

Yeap sista Fisher is a trip……….but the word has been the last 3 years that he has been acting like this because he wants to be fired. People have been saying he has wanted out of Tennessee the last few years but Adams is to cheap and won’t fire him.

Not sure if this is true or not but I have never seen a coach do the opposite of what a owner wants on such a consistent basis like this. People forget that when the team was 0-5 last year Adams wanted VY to start. But Fisher basically refused………once they lost to the Pats 56-0 and Bud called him in the office he finally put VY in the next game.

  11. Miranda says:

Well damn what will it take? Fisher parking in Adams spot? Cracking jokes about Mrs. Adams to the towel boys and it getting on youtube?? Damn…..we used to joke about how Bobby Petrino was doing everything in his power to get fired and finally just dipped on Blank, but Fisher is taking this to a new level. LOL

  12. Temple3 says:

Bud Adams is too old to FIGHT. He can still make decrees that he can expect to be followed, but by saying they needed to “work it out,” he did two things: he put the onus of actually working it out on Fisher AND he reaffirmed his commitment to VY. I think that’s as much as you can expect from a guy in his condition. A year ago, he was more involved and VY was totally healthy and the team was 0-6.

I don’t think anyone needs to look further than Keith Bullock’s comments. He’s been as productive and professional a football player as there has been in this league. When he rings the alarm, you have to know the flavor.

I think Fisher has lost all touch with reality — and he did that most clearly when he donned the Peyton Manning jersey, much to the chagrin of ALL Titans fans. No one thought it was funny.

  13. Jim says:

I have a question about VY’s so called “tantrum”. I have yet to see any pictures or video’s of the actual tantrum, only second hand reports and rumors. In an age when you can’t break wind in public without some one getting it on a cell phone or tweeting/texting it to the whole world, why haven’t we heard more out of actual witnesses to the event? This whole Fisher/Young thing reminds me of a nasty divorce where each side is taking any words, actions, or perceived slight and using them as a weapon against the other. This Nashvillian is fed with both of them. Hopefully Bud will send both of them packing at the end of the season.

  14. Big Man says:

So Young texts an apology to Fisher and that’s promptly leaked to ESPN?

Who is giving these young black men advice? Seriously, this is a damn shame.

  15. Temple3 says:

Vince Young has a passer rating of 98.6.

    Someone should check Fisher’s temperature.

  16. sankofa says:

…”Who is giving these young black men advice? Seriously, this is a damn shame….”

Whats your name boy? (Slaaap! the sound of a whip smacking against the welcoming black skin) Your name is toby (slaaap!)

    whats your name?

  17. Origin says:

@Bigman – I don’t agree with VY texting Fisher, he should have contacted Bud Adams and asked if he could set a face to face meeting up with all three of them. In saying that it didn’t matter what VY texted him or if he just kept quiet. Information would have still been leaked whether it was made up or true. Look at the Mcnabb incident 3 weeks ago. The brotha is like the black QB version of Obama…..Mcnabb plays it right down the middle like a politician, he said nothing. After all this they still threw him under the bus…..there were rumors he was lazy. That punk trick Hasselbeck basically said he was lazy. Then you had stories that he couldn’t learn the playbook. I mean they threw everything out there whether it was factual or not.

It just doesn’t matter what these guys do if its ESPN and the rest of the garbage MSM if they want to throw you under the bus they will. With these garbage unnamed sources. Another thing this just proves how the coaches are in the same bed with the ESPNs of the world. If VY did text young this bastard Fisher leaked the info to ESPN. Same with how that punk Shanahan was leaking info about Mcnabb.

Anyway I said it 4 weeks ago that this stuff was just warning shots and it would get worse as the season progressed. Vick is scaring the shit out of these bastards they were hoping his career was dead and buried. IMO a lot of these dudes are paying for the success of Vick and Cam. Remember 2 years ago everyone in the media (Simmons, Deadspin) were saying the days of the black QB was long gone and that Mcnabb was the last one standing. Now this year we had 7 black QBs starting. Like I said I don’t expect anything less from these people.

  18. Origin says:

Now the Off Cord. Mike Heimerdinger has been diagnosed with cancer and is leaving the team. Man that team is falling falling apart.

And Temple you are so right about VY and that passing rating. This young man has improved the last 2 years. Yet folks outside of the NFL Network want to make it seem as though he is the worst QB in the league. You got the talking heads ignoring that he saved Fishers job his rookie year and last year, while at the same time claiming that he can’t read a defense. Then how in the world does he have a QB rating in the top 7 or 8 QBs.

Also guys here is what Fisher said about the text today.

glennonsports: Fisher on VY apology text: “I?m not a real big text guy. I?m not really into this new-age stuff (cont.)

    lennonsports: (cont.) … . “I don?t twitter or tweet, but I think face-to-face is a man thing.”

glennonsports: Fisher on if anything good came from VY apology text: “I don?t think so, no. Someone could have grabbed his phone and texted.”

See this just shows how much a punk Fisher is. Also now the word is that there was no media present when Fisher and VY got into an argument. Fisher ran and told some of his media boys after the incident. Yeah Fisher is trying to get Adams to pull his hoe card and fire him……..that way Fisher doesn’t have to resign.

  19. Big Man says:

I see you Sankofa. I see you.

  20. Miranda says:

Can any of imagine the fallout if these words came from the lips of McNabb or Garrard or Vick?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5847763

  21. Julius says:

If Vince Young is so much in the right in this situation, then why did he apologize to Fisher? They both sound like whining twerps to my ears.

  22. Burundi says:

VY is misguided, that’s why, (which is no different from a lotta Black folk in that position), he wrongheadedly apologized to Fisher even when that brazen, unrepentant, slack-jawed hillbilly was wrong.

    “What’s wrong, boss? We’ze sick?”

Unfortunately, both VY and Mac7 should have told Fisher and the Shanahans, respectively, to put a silver dollar-sized hickey on the the cleft of their left buttocks, but I guess they see a greater good that escapes me.

  23. Burundi says:

Fisher converted Air McNair, formerly of NCAA record-setting Alcorn State to Air Manager. Ah-hah! I’ve got it! The lack of contractually guaranteed money keeps more players from doing like Randy Moss and speaking their mind.

Like dude said, “Ya’ll call it a Super Bowl? Well, if it’s so super, why do you do it every year?”

  24. Burundi says:

Oops! “why do you play it every year?”
