TSF Tip-Off For Tuesday May 1, 2012: Miami Heat and Oklahoma City Thunder Go Up 2-0; $200 Glass Case KOs $100+ Million Amar’e Stoudemire
Dwayne Wade scored 25 of the Big Three’s 65 points as the Miami Heat went up on the Knicks 2-0 in their best of seven first round series. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks wiith 30 points as the scene now shifts to New York as the Knicks look to stave off elimination – knockout blow may have occured after last night’s contest when Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire punched a fire extinguisher case lacerating his left hand. Stoudemire was treated by Knicks trainers and left the arena with his left arm in a sling.
The Indiana Pacers regrouped to even up their series against the Orlando Magic last night, The Pacers got solid contributions throughout their lineup as they held the Magic to 35 percent shooting for the contest. Danny Granger, George Hill and David West each scored 18 points for the home team. Glen Davis scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Magic.
The Dallas Mavericks are headed back home down 2-0 against the OKC Thunder after falling in last night’s contest 102-99. Dirk Nowitzki (31 points) and Jason Terry (13 points) missed crucial baskets down the stretch that could’ve either tied the game or given the Mavs the lead. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 55 points. James Harden (15 points) iced the game in the closing seconds with four free throws.
