I'm torn this series because as much as I would love to see Miami win the chip and silence all the racism and hatred, I'm also a big, big fan of Black Pharaoh, Truth, Walter Ray, Doc, and whatever nickname we come with for Rondo (notice I didn't say I'm a fan of "the Celtics" lol I grew up in the 80s, I'm not an idiot lol!). In fact, I like those players much much more than I have ever liked Lebron or DWade. The latter two players I've never liked much at all, as many around here know. But I'm willing to set aside my whatever issues I have with Lebron and focus on what a Miami Heat victory would mean for the greater good of kneegrowed professional athletes lol.

But the Heat would win this series anyway, and it isn't because of the lousy officiating, including unearned technicals in game 1, and one particularly egregious missed call in game 2. No, although the Kelts may win one or both games at home this weekend, they will eventually lose the series because, while they can play splendid team defense for the duration of the shot clock, with KG playing center fielder or strong safety or pick-your-analogy, and force their opponent into bad shots, they cannot collect the defensive board!!! That was what cost them game 2, and that is what will cost them the series (that plus their bench, which is non-existent), despite excellent coaching and motivation from Doc (do you see how this team executes coming out of time outs? Doc is underappreciated, for sure. If his name was Spoelstra or Vogel, whitefolk would've canonized him by now), plus brilliant, rejuvenated play from the Big 4.

Remember when the shot went up and, if it came off the rim, KG would gobble up the rebound, beckoning the orange with one of those skinny black arms stretched forth unto god? That was the KG of lore, Minnesota KG, the Great Lakes Twin Cities Pharoah. We haven't seen that KG since '08, and despite this rejuvenation, we still haven't seen THAT cat. How many play saving, shot clock restarting offensive boards did Lebron and the other unmentionables on Miami's frontline snare away from KG and the Kelts after the latter had played 20 seconds worth of stellar D?

Damn the refs, and so much for Rondo's historic night. That's your series right there, folks.

A-to-the-men, Mike.

If only we still had Jeff Green, Avery Bradley, and even Tony Allen back we wouldn't have to rely on the likes of MP3, Steimsma, Dooling, etc. Sigh ....

You never know. Doc will get them to dig deeper. Keep in mind the C's eliminated two very young and very fast teams: Atlanta and Philly. This will be much much tougher. But why not us?

I know you're thinking that's "baseless optimism" but who cares. It's all I can go on right now.

Great job!

I think that this has to be Rondo's coming out party. If people were sleeping on him, they need to stop now. Yesterday, Origin talked about how people complain about Miami fouling people and not getting the call, or getting too many favourable calls. He and intelligent people point to the amount of hacking that Lebron James get's that are never called.

I mentioned this because across Celtic Nation and in the minds of everybody who hates the Heat the talk is about the non-call on Wade hitting Rondo in the face. Yet no body talks about that bogus jump ball between Rondo and James, where replays show him grabbing James by the bicep and pulling him to the ground. The fans I accept as being a bunch of bitches...but when did NBA players become the same? By the way the other 31 teams carry on, it's as if the Miami Heat players, slept with their girl friends, stole their lunch money or spit in their sodas.

Doc should be ashamed of himself for allowing his players to act like such whinny bunch. I thought he was old school. Still, this was a great game and very enjoyable.
