In today’s hip-hop driven NBA, Tim Duncan has been the easy listening station at the end of the dial. He’s our parents’ rotary phone — the one our children have never seen thanks to the iPhone 4s or whatever Sony spit out this month.

Thirteen seasons in, Duncan remains effective — fine tuning the dial just in time to make an unexpected title run.

The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs tore his right achillies tendon on April 29th knocking the Pro Bowler out for the 2012-13 season. According to Suggs, the injury occurred while he was doing a conditioning test. While those in attendance at a three-day basketball tournament said that Suggs was injured in the championship game of the tournament.

Looks like Suggs is in a pickle, especially since he’s in the 4th year of a $62 million deal.

In ECF Game 5, KG and the Celtics throw mentally tough rain on the Heat 94-90

Black Pharaoh speaks it like he thinks it. That’s how we do it here…

94-90 Celtics win. This is not a shock. Boston made stops, they got on the floor after balls and seemed to be a lot more focused on what they needed to do. Doc Rivers? Doc Rivers (that zone stifled the Heat) is calling out offensive sets and defensive coverages like he’s a historic giant of the NBA game. Combine that knowledge and sense for the moment with Black Pharaoh and a James Harden like dagger from the Truth and you have everything you need for Boston to lead this series 3-2. Game 6 Thursday.
