Phelps is the most decorated Olympian in history…

Michael Phelps won his 22 Olympic medal…18th gold…when his United States 4X100 medley relay team won Saturday night in London. His teammates were Matt Grevers, Brendan Hansen and Nathan Adrian. There were whispers after Phelps failed to medal in the 400 IM and two other silver medals, but Mike subsequently won gold in the remaining events he competed in.

Serena Williams routs Maria Sharapova in gold medal match and becomes first woman to complete Golden Slam in singles and doubles

Finished off Sharapova with an ace…

Serena Williams emphatically cemented her tennis legacy with a 6-0, 6-1 domination of 3rd seeded Maria Sharapova to win her first Olympic singles gold medal. She has an 8 game winning streak vs. Sharapova and hasn’t lost to the Russian since ’04. It was a match where she committed just 7 unforced errors to go along with 10 aces and 24 winners. The score represented the most one sided gold medal match in Olympic tennis history. The previous was France’s Suzanne Lenglen routing of Britain’s Dorothy Holman 6-3, 6-0 in 1920. Serena Williams has won 33 of 34 singles matches…her only defeat coming in a first round at the French Open.
