Garrett Reid, the eldest son of Eagles coach Andy Reid was found dead this morning at the Eagles training camp facilities in Lehigh, Pa. this morning.

A 9-1-1 call was made at around 7:20 am said Lehigh Police Chief Edward Schupp. Schupp said that Garrett Reid was deceased upon the arrival of police to the campus dormitory. Schupp added that there were no “suspicious activities”.

Players gathered for a team prayer prior to practice and were told not to speak to reporters.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman spoke at the Eagles training camp this morning:

“I have some heartbreaking news to share with you all,” an emotional Roseman said in a press conference that was streamed on the team’s web site. “It is with great sadness that I tell you Garrett Reid, the oldest son of Coach Reid, was found dead this morning in his room here at training camp. This is a tough morning for all us.”

“He’s been strong for us, we’re going to be strong for him right now,” Roseman said of coach Andy Reid, according to Pro Football Talk.

At the time of his death Garrett was at the Eagles training camp to assist the strength coaches.
