Tip-Off for 8/22/12 (featuring Fabulous): Michael Vick, Nick Foles and the “Hope” against hope

Is impatience or a hidden dislike for Vick the reason people want to see Nick Foles starting?

For the second consecutive preseason game, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick’s night was cut short due to injury. Against the New England Patriots Monday night, Vick sustained a rib contusion and was replaced by rookie quarterback Nick Foles.

In an extended role, Foles was 18 for 28 for 218 yards and two touchdowns. Foles entered camp as the third string quarterback and with his recent play has almost assuredly moved up to #2 on the depth chart.

For those weary of the Michael Vick Experiment, #2 isn’t enough.
