The Temple Owls (1-1) realized early in their contest against the Maryland Terrapins (1-1) that this was not the same team they handled 38-7 last year at Byrd Stadium.

Turnovers, penalties and blown coverages are a recipe for disaster and in the first half the Owls were preparing a huge dish. The Owls eventually cut down on the miscues and capitalized on Maryland’s mistakes to make it a game late into the 4th quarter. Dropped passes and big plays on key downs allowed the visiting Terrapins to escape with a 36-27 victory.

Full transcript of Democratic National Convention acceptance speech by President Barack Obama

You can’t fake this kind of love…

That picture right there will be historic. I looked at that embrace and personal exchange in awe and after Michelle Obama made such an iconic speech herself at the DNC, the President had to make one of his own last night that would blaze a path to reelection. Before the President spoke, Joe Biden fired up the crowd in only the way he can do…and even got choked up himself at the end of his time at the podium. Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney will be challenged tremendously to get their party points across with the President and Vice President as their debate opposition, but that’s a month off. What did you think of the President’s speech last night? He seemed very real, human, apologetic and yeah…vulnerable. They Dems let America in. The DNC seemed like a family outing. Like we really got to know the democratic party this week (as much as that allows cough cough). That is interesting. Bill Clinton rocked and so did Joaquin Castro. The crowd was as diverse as the country is…and should be. Everything seemed positive and unlike the Republican National Convention…there was an air of all inclusive hope. That’s really important no matter the political agenda. Politics are politics and both parties will do what needs to be done to get elected, but it sure was good to get a sense of optimism huh?

Trust…the Republicans will pull out all the stops in the next two months because the Democrats rocked the house this week with a ten man hand.
