Steve Sabol: Innovative titan of the NFL passes away at age 69

To measure Steve Sabol’s impact on the NFL — look no further than the NFL Films vault.

When I heard yesterday afternoon that NFL Films co-founder Steve Sabol passed away from brain cancer my first thought was a huge piece of my childhood has died. Steve Sabol along with his father Ed founded NFL Films and brought a sport that trailed baseball, college football and boxing to the forefront of American culture.

I don’t know where the NFL would be without Steve Sabol, but I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be what we have today.

Ron Glover’s Week 3 NFL Power Rankings: Where do the 2-0 Arizona Cardinals sit?

The Niners defense has chased down Aaron Rodgers and Matt Stafford in their first two victories.

This week’s power rankings finds some teams in weird space. The Arizona Cardinals are 2-0 and the New Orleans Saints are 0-2 — something none of us saw coming.

Twenty teams have 1-1 records — the most during any time in recent memory. There are six undefeated teams and six  without a win. Unlike the replacement officials — I have control of the situation.
