With a new deal in the works these replacement officials have dropped the ball for the last time.
According to ESPN insider Chris Mortensen, the NFL owners and officials have a deal in principle that would have the locked out referees possibly returning to work as early as this weekend.
It looks like an agreement between the NFL owners and officials is imminent, but no deal has been announced.
It hasn’t been determined if the officials will have their physical exams completed in time for this week’s games. I tip my hat to the replacement officials for providing an alternative. At times it didn’t seem like the best choice but it was better than no football at all.
