Ron Glover’s NFL Recap for Week 6: Russell Wilson outshines Tom Brady in Seahawks win over Patriots; Packers hand the Texans their first loss in a rout
(Elaine Thompson/Associated Press)
Russell Wilson and the Seahawks defense were huge in the 4th quarter.
We are now down to one.
The Houston Texans were unable to contain a motivated Aaron Rodgers last night. Rodgers tossed six touchdown passes (3 to Jordy Nelson) in a 42-24 Packers stomping. The Packers win knocked the Texans from the ranks of the unbeaten. Leaving the Atlanta Falcons as the NFL’s lone undefeated team.
Three weeks after their controvesial win against the Packers the Seattle Seahawks went legit against the visiting New England Patriots. Russell Wilson rallied the Seahawks from 13 points down in the fourth quarter in the Seahawks stunning 24-23 victory.
Ronde Barber would return this interception 78-yards for a touchdown.
Buccaneers 38 – Chiefs 10 – Cornerback Ronde Barber continues to laugh in the face of Father Time. Josh Freeman passed for 328 yards and 3 touchdowns.
NY Jets 35 – Indianapolis Colts 9 – The only thing more shocking than the final score was the Jets rushing for 250 total yards. Andrew Luck will bounce back from this.
Browns 34 – Bengals 24 – Brandon Weeden threw two touchdown passes as the Browns snapped an 11-game losing streak for their first win of the season.

Dez Bryant had 13 catches for 95 yards, but needed a flag after a failed 2-point conversion.
Ravens 31 – Cowboys 29 – The Cowboys offense was impressive, but failed on a two-point conversion with 32 seconds left. Ray Lewis will have an MRI on his triceps today.
Falcons 23 – Raiders 20 – The Falcons remain unbeaten. Looks like Asante Samuel has fit in nicely at cornerback.
Dolphins 17 – Rams 14 – Greg Zuerlein had the distance but missed wide left on a 66-yard field goal attempt. Ryan Tannehill was 21-29 for 185 yards and two touchdowns.
Lions 26 – Eagles 23 – Andy Reid has ten weeks, maybe less to right this ship.
Bills 19 – Cardinals 16 – John Skelton returned after a Kevin Kolb rib injury. Jairus Byrd’s second pick set up the game-winning field goal in overtime.
Redskins 38 – Vikings 26 – Robert Griffin III’s 76-yard scamper to ice the game was as timely and spectacular a play as you’ll see this season.
Seahawks 24 – Patriots 23 – Just what Seattle needed heading into Thursday night’s meeting against the 49ers.
Giants 26 – 49ers 3 – A championship performance by the Giants yesterday. Randy Moss had two catches for 75 yards.
Packers 42 – Texans 24 – The Texans will look to rebound against the Ravens next week. Remember what I said about James Jones a couple of weeks ago.
