Adrian Peterson will need the ball in heavy doses in order for the Vikes to have a shot.

This week features head to head matchups that will have a direct impact on the playoff picture. The Vikings meet the Packers in a battle for second place in the NFC North. The Ravens meet the hated Steelers with the intention of closing the door on their playoff hopes. In the NFC East, the Giants are looking to douse the playoff hopes of the Redskins.

Sunday December 2, 2012, Games beginning at 1:00 pm:

Seattle Seahawks (6-5) at Chicago Bears (8-3) – Seattle played better than expected considering their travel distance last week. This could be another thriller.

Bears 24 – Seahawks 23

Houston Texans (10-1) – at Tennessee Titans (4-7) – The Texans injuries are starting to rear their ugly head, allowing teams like the Titans to stay in the game.

Texans 30 – Titans 20

New England Patriots (8-3) at Miami Dolphins (5-6) – The Patriots have the division title in their grasp. Now is the time to fine tune the gang for a deep playoff run.

Patriots 27 – Dolphins 18

Jacksonville Jaguars (2-9) at Buffalo Bills (4-7) – I can see the Jags pulling this out, but the Bills are due.

Bills 20 – Jags 16

Indianapolis Colts (7-4) at Detroit Lions (4-7) – I don’t like this game for the Colts, their physicality will be tested.

Lions 24 – Colts 22

Carolina Panthers (3-8) at Kansas City Chiefs (1-10) – Carolina needs to focus on finishing strong. It starts here.

Panthers 29 – Chiefs 12

Packers 27 – Vikings 21

San Francisco 49ers (8-2-1) at St. Louis Rams (4-6-1) – There will be no overtime, but the Rams will keep it close.

49ers 23 – Rams 17

Cardinals 17 – Jets 10

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-5) at Denver Broncos (8-3) – The Bucs needed the game last week against the Falcons because of this week’s matchup.

Broncos 28 – Bucs 21

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-5) at Baltimore Ravens (8-3) – If Ben Roethlisberger can’t go, this turns into a real struggle

Ravens 28 – Steelers 16
