Brandon Jennings’ heavy scoring output in the last two games should not come as a surprise.
Brandon Jennings poured in 35 points against a Chicago Bulls backcourt minus starter Kirk Hinrich. Jennings was more than a handful for the mouthy Nate Robinson in Milwaukee’s 104-96 victory. The Bucks are 2-0 since the hiring of Jim Boylan and are currently 7th in the Eastern Conference standings.
Raptors 90 – 76ers 72 – The struggling Sixers scored only 32 points in the second half. The Raptors have now won seven of their last ten games. Jrue Holiday and Thaddeus Young scored 16 points each for Philly. Amir Johnson scored 19 points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds for Toronto.
Jazz 112 – Bobcats 102 – Al Jefferson scored 26 points for the Jazz, who blocked 11 shots. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led Charlotte’s starters with 15 points. Reserve Ben Gordon led all Bobcats with 20 points.
Cavs 99 – Hawks 83 – Kyrie Irving finished with 33 points for the Cavs, who held Atlanta to 12 second quarter points. Josh Smith scored 17 points and grabbed 8 boards for the Hawks.
Celtics 87 – Suns 79 – Rookie Jared Sullinger scored 12 points and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds. The Suns shot only 16 percent from beyond the arc. They were led by Luis Scola with 16 points, Goran Gortat pulled down 14 rebounds.
Bucks 104 – Bulls 96 – The Bulls only shot 41 percent and committed 15 turnovers. Carlos Boozer scored 22 points for Chicago. Milwaukee’s Larry Sanders grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.
Hornets 88 – Rockets 79 – James Harden was the only Houston player to score in double figures. Harden led the team with 25 points. Roger Mason scored 15 points in the 4th quarter to spark a Hornets rally. Greivis Vasquez led New Orleans with 17 points and 11 assists.
Spurs 108 – Lakers 105 – The Spurs held off a late Lakers rally to snap a two-game losing streak and send the Lakers to their fifth straight defeat. Tony Parker led the Spurs scoring with 24 points. Tiago Splitter grabbed 14 rebounds to go with 14 points. Metta World Peace scored 23 points and Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 27 points.
Thunder 106 – T-Wolves 84 – Kevin Durant scored 26 points and Russell Westbrook added 23 as the Thunder took advantage of 19 Minnesota turnovers. Nikola Pekovic scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the T-Wolves.
Nuggets 108 – Magic 105 – Kenneth Faried led the Nuggets with 19 points and 19 rebounds. The Nuggets continue their climb in the Western Conference standings. Jameer Nelson led the Magic with 20 points and 8 assists.
Clippers 99 – Mavericks 93 – Los Angeles won the rebounding battle 47-34 but committed 21 turnovers. Darren Collison led the Mavericks with 22 points and 6 assists. Chris Paul scored 19 points and handed out a game-high 16 assists.
Grizzlies 94 – Warriors 87 – The Grizzlies were able to put the game away late despite shooting 11 percent from three-point range. Zach Randolph scored 19 points and grabbed 12 boards. Steph Curry scored 24 points for the Warriors.
