Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried and Andre Miller are leading a surging Nuggets squad.
It took awhile for the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets to get going, but it looks like they’ve gained the proper footing on this NBA season. The Nets replaced Avery Johnson in December and have won six straight under P.J. Carlesimo. Their latest victory was a 97-86 win over the surging Indiana Pacers.
The Denver Nuggets tweaked their roster in the off-season with the addition of Andre Iguodala, but played .500 ball in the opening weeks of the season. The Nuggets won their fifth game in a row, defeating the Golden State Warriors 116-105.
Knicks 100 – Hornets 87 – Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points and Tyson Chandler grabbed 14 boards for New York. The Hornets shot 17 percent from three-point range. Eric Gordon led the Hornets with 22 points.
Bucks 107 – Raptors 96 – The Bucks shot 52 percent from the floor and were led by Brandon Jennings with 19 points and 10 assists. DeMar DeRozan led the Raptors with 23 points.
Nets 97 – Pacers 86 - The Nets won the battle on the glass 47-39. Deron Williams led Brooklyn with 22 points and 9 assists. David West scored 27 points and Paul George 12 rebounds for the Pacers.
Spurs 106 – T-Wolves 88 – San Antonio shot 56 percent from the floor, but turned the ball over 17 times. Tim Duncan led the Spurs with 9 rebounds and Tony Parker chipped in 20 points. J.J. Barea led Minnesota with 15 points.
Nuggets 116 – Warriors 105 – Golden State shot great from the floor, but 18 turnovers proved to be their downfall. Danilo Gallinari had 21 points and Kenneth Faried grabbed 11 boards for Denver. Steph Curry led all scorers with 29 points.
Thunder 87 – Blazers 83 – The Blazers were able to hang close despite shooting 36 percent from the floor. Kevin Durant led OKC with 33 points. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 33 points and 11 rebounds.
Lakers 113 – Cavaliers 93 – The Lakers shot 58 percent from the floor, snapping a six-game losing streak. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 23 points and Dwight Howard grabbed 14 rebounds. Kyrie Irving led the Cavs with 15 points.
