Have the Wonder Twins’ powers finally been activated?

The spontaneous combustion of Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard is what NBA fans have hoped for, or feared. Kobe Bryant has been an Aston Martin among Toyotas – while Howard’s first two months in Tinseltown have been met with some turbulence. The Lakers have struggled, but have shown recent improvement at both ends of the floor. Dwight Howard was a presence in the paint with 16 boards and 4 blocks as Lakers blew out the Milwaukee Bucks 104-88.

Hornets 111 – 76ers 98 – The Sixers have failed to win back-to-back games since November 30th. Greivis Vasquez led New Orleans with 29 points and 9 assists. Jrue Holiday also scored 29 points and handed out 11 assists for Philly.

Pacers 103 – Bobcats 86 – The Pacers held the Bobcats to 34 percent shooting and nearly doubled their rebounding total (60-31). Roy Hibbert led Indiana with 18 points and Paul George grabbed 10 rebounds. Gerald Henderson led Charlotte with 15 points.

Nets 113 – Raptors 106 - Turnovers were the difference in this contest. Brook Lopez finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds for Brooklyn. Kyle Lowry led the Raptors with 21 points.  

Clippers 117 – Rockets 99 – The Rockets dropped their fourth game in a row after shooting 56 percent from the free throw line. The Clippers Jamal Crawford scored a game-high 30 points. James Harden led Houston with 23 points, Jeremy Lin had 10 assists.

Nuggets 115 – Blazers 111 (overtime) – The Nuggets have won six in succession despite being out rebounded by Portland 46-39. Ty Lawson led the Nuggets with 24 points and 12 assists. Three Nuggets players scored 20 or more points. LaMarcus Aldridge scored a game-high 28 points and J.J. Hickson scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for the Blazers.

Lakers 104 – Bucks 88 – The Lakers held the backcourt tandem of Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis to 10 for 30 shooting. Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, Dwight Howard also scored 31 points to go with 16 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Monta Ellis led the Bucks with 17 points.
