I’ve never seen this before. Notice how proud Ali was taking this pic

Slept on the anniversary of the death of Malcolm X yesterday. My bad. Here’s a compilation of speeches during those fiery times. Goodness I wish I was there. Would be honored to meet Malcolm and bring back a well needed sense of urgency. His was the spirit of unapologetic passionate knowledge and wisdom cultivated through hellish personal experience and an unabated hunger to see his people through.

LeBron James has made witnesses of us all.

Is there a superlative to describe the play of LeBron James heading into the All-Star break? The Miami Heat have won seven-games in a row behind James’ annihilation of man and rim. Michael Jordan throwing salt in James’ game didn’t help matters. Etan Thomas, Malik Rose and Perry DiVirgilio spoke on fatherhood recently in Philadelphia.

Ten years into fatherhood and the thought of being a father still has me pinching myself. It hasn’t always been a smooth ride. It’s been more of a joy than a chore. I’ve taken my role as a father very seriously. My son has given me some of the best days of my existence.

Parenting isn’t easy. I’ve had several conversations with married fathers and divorced dads like myself. With Quentin getting older, he and I are entering an important phase in our relationship. Falling back on what I think I know is easy. Gaining sound advice from voices of experience is priceless. So here I am looking to build a solid blueprint for my us.

With a little help from my friends.

The Truth may have permanently silenced the overkill of critics on the death of the Boston Celtics.

When Rajon Rondo went down with a possible season-ending knee injury, Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers proclaimed there would be no funeral for his team. Instead, all the C’s have done is bury their opponents. Last night Paul Pierce scored 27 points and added 14 rebounds and 14 assists in the Celtics 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Boston’s win streak now stands at 7 games, the Nuggets win streak has been snapped at 9 games.

Paul Pierce made sure the Lakers didn’t leave the TD Bank Garden in one piece.

So much for the Boston Celtics falling apart in the wake of Rajon Rondo’s injury. The Celtics are 6-0 without their All-Star point guard. Some reports have Rondo’s injury being not as severe and a return to the team this season is a possibility. Meanwhile, the saga that is the Los Angeles Lakers continues. The most recent episode has Dwight Howard taking to exception to Kobe Bryant suggesting he should play through his ailing shoulder. At age 27, Howard is more concerned with the long-term effects of the injury. For Bryant, time is of the essence.
