The Truth may have permanently silenced the overkill of critics on the death of the Boston Celtics.
When Rajon Rondo went down with a possible season-ending knee injury, Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers proclaimed there would be no funeral for his team. Instead, all the C’s have done is bury their opponents. Last night Paul Pierce scored 27 points and added 14 rebounds and 14 assists in the Celtics 118-114 victory over the Denver Nuggets. Boston’s win streak now stands at 7 games, the Nuggets win streak has been snapped at 9 games.
Clippers 102 – Knicks 88 – The Clippers outscored the Knicks 31-18 in the 4th quarter to put the game out of reach. Jamal Crawford scored 27 points and Blake Griffin grabbed 12 rebounds for the Clippers. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with a game-high 42 points.
Heat 107 – Lakers 97 – Lack of rebounding doomed the Lakers against a Heat squad that is one of the NBA’s worst. LeBron James scored a game-high 32 points and Chris Bosh had 11 rebounds for Miami. Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 28 points.
Celtics 118 – Nuggets 114 – Jason Terry had his best game in a Celtics uniform, scoring 26 points. Kevin Garnett had 20 points and a game-high 18 rebounds. Ty Lawson led Denver with 29 points. JaVale McGee grabbed 16 rebounds in a reserve role.
Raptors 102 – Hornets 89 – Toronto shot 50 percent from beyond the arc. Rudy Gay led the Raptors with 20 points. Robin Lopez led the Hornets with 19 points.
Magic 110- Blazers 104 – The Orlando Magic ended their 12-game losing streak behind another strong rebounding performance from Nikola Vucevic. Vucevic, who is 5th in the NBA in rebounds pulled down a game-high 19 against the Blazers. J.J. Redick led Orlando with 22 points. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 25 points.
Grizzlies 105 – T-Wolves 88 – Tayshaun Prince scored a game-high 19 points for his new team. Memphis is tstrugglingto remain relevant in the Western Conference playoff picture. Luke Ridenour led the T-Wolves with 17 points.
Spurs 111 – Nets 86 – Tony Parker continued his hot streak with 29 points and 11 assists. The Spurs only committed 5 turnovers. The Nets were led by Joe Johnson with 19 points.
Thunder 97 – Suns 69 – The Thunder held a 74-48 lead after three quarters. The Suns won the battle on the boards 53-40, but were only good for shooting 33 percent from the floor. Russell Westbrook led all players with 24 points. Michael Beasley grabbed 8 boards for the Suns.
Kings 117 – Rockets 111 – James Harden scored 30 points and Omir Asik grabbed 12 rebounds for the Rockets. John Salmons scored 23 points and handed out 12 dimes for the Kings.
