The Louisville Cardinals have reached the National Championship Game with grit and a suffocating defense — which has choked the life out of opposing back courts. The pressure of guards Peyton Siva and Russ Smith has set the tone for The ‘Ville’s run to the championship game. The added incentive to go all out for injured teammate Kevin Ware has raised the stakes for Rick Pitino’s crew.

The Michigan Wolverines finished fourth in the Big Ten Conference this season. An unlikely replacement for heavily favored conference foe Indiana. The Maize and Blue’s unexpected five-game winning streak has landed them in the title game for the first time in twenty years.

In the end, Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks rose above the Thunder.

The New York Knicks went shot for scintillating shot against the Oklahoma City Thunder — who refused to go away easy. The Thunder shot 58 percent from the field and the Knicks shot 50 percent. The late game heroics of J.R. Smith pushed New York to a 125-120 victory.
