Tip-Off for 5/7/13 (featuring Reggie Miller): Bulls steal opener from Heat 93-86; Spurs survive double-overtime shootout with Warriors 129-127Posted in Blogroll on May 7th, 2013 by Ron Glover
Not even the newly minted NBA MVP could hold down Nate Robinson and the Bulls.
The Chicago Bulls and Nate Robinson continue to amaze in this year’s playoffs. The man blessed with “a lot of heart and no height” stood tall once again when it mattered. Robinson led the Bulls with 27 points and 9 assists in a stunning 93-86 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The loss ended a 12-game winning streak by the Heat.
Manu Ginobili drilled a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to push the San Antonio Spurs past the visiting Golden State Warriors 129-127. The story of the game was the play of Steph Curry — who made the Spurs literally sick in a 22-point barrage in the 3rd quarter. Tim Duncan left the game late in the 4th quarter, suffering from the after effects of the flu and played sparingly in the two overtimes.
