Not even the newly minted NBA MVP could hold down Nate Robinson and the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls and Nate Robinson continue to amaze in this year’s playoffs. The man blessed with “a lot of heart and no height” stood tall once again when it mattered. Robinson led the Bulls with 27 points and 9 assists in a stunning 93-86 victory over the Miami Heat in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The loss ended a 12-game winning streak by the Heat.

Manu Ginobili drilled a three-pointer with 1.2 seconds remaining to push the San Antonio Spurs past the visiting Golden State Warriors 129-127. The story of the game was the play of Steph Curry — who made the Spurs literally sick in a 22-point barrage in the 3rd quarter. Tim Duncan left the game late in the 4th quarter, suffering from the after effects of the flu and played sparingly in the two overtimes.

Ron Glover’s Western Conference Semifinals Preview: (6) Golden State Warriors vs. (2) San Antonio Spurs

The veteran Spurs are out to smother the up and coming Steph Curry and the Warriors.

The San Antonio Spurs made quick work of the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round. The aging Spurs have over a week of rest heading into this series. Tiago Splitter (ankle) is listed as doubtful for Game 1.

Mark Jackson’s Golden State Warriors were all but written off when forward David Lee injured his hip flexor in Game one of their series against the Denver Nuggets. However, it was the Nuggets who were unable to recover from the loss of leading scorer Danilo Gallinari — who was injured prior to the start of the playoffs. Powered by the coming out party of scoring machine Steph Curry, the Warriors knocked out the Nuggets in six games.
