Dwight Howard has made his decision official via Twitter.
It’s safe to start printing those Dwight Howard Houston Rockets jerseys again. Dwight Howard has confirmed through ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith he is indeed leaving the Los Angeles Lakers to join the Houston Rockets.
According to Stephen A. Smith, Dwight Howard will continue on to the Houston Rockets. In a phone conversation with Smith, Howard expressed his disappointment because of the reports of him being 50/50 on returning to the Lakers. Howard confirmed he spoke with Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak and informed him of his intentions of joining the Rockets and leaving an estimated $30 million on the table.
Howard released a statement via Twitter:
I’ve decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets. I feel it’s the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I’m looking forward to a great season. I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best.”
